I received a curious call on my landline the other day. A company called S D Global mentioned they had a conversation with me a fortnight ago concerning a loan. The thing is, I’ve never had any dealings with them! It's quite baffling how they even tracked down my landline number in the first place.

Picked up the phone and the line went dead straight away. Could hear loads of chatter in the background, sounds like a call centre or something. Blocked the number right after.

I received a call from a rather shifty chap with an accent that didn’t sound local. He started off with some casual banter, inquiring about how my day was. When I pressed him about the purpose of his call, he claimed it was because I had expressed interest in online trading. To be honest, I’ve never shown any inclination towards that at all. Total spam and a potential scam - best to steer clear of this one!

When I picked up my phone, I noticed I was put on hold and asked why. He brushed it off and denied it. I tried to find out who he was by asking his name, but he got all defensive and told me to just take a pill or something. I kept pressing for an answer, but he said I was being aggressive and refused to say who he was. Then out of nowhere, he called me a bastard and slammed the phone down. What a total muppet.

Some guy with a foreign accent called me, claiming to be from a financial company. Kept using my first name over and over. When I asked where he got my name, he said it was found online, which sounded like complete rubbish. Definitely a scammer - I’ve blocked the number now.

I got a call on my phone at about 5.25pm, which was weird since i've never shared my number with anyone. I answered and said hello a few times but they just dropped the call without saying a word. I tried calling them back cos I thought maybe it was the London call I was waiting for, but it ended up being some international line. After it rung out they hung up on me again, so I just blocked the number.

a guy with an asian accent called me up saying i'd signed up for some kind of online trading thing. i told him i hadn’t, but he got really pushy, saying he already had all my info. I tried to tell him I wasn’t interested and asked him to stop talking to me like that. then he told me to “take a pill, man” and just abruptly ended the call.

Even though I've signed up with the Telephone Preference Service, my landline- which is supposed to be private-continuously gets bombarded with calls. I’ve taken to ignoring them entirely, letting the phone ring its little heart out before using 1471 to discover who it was. Unsurprisingly, it’s always some unsolicited marketing calls that I’m not bothered about!
