Got a call off someone pretending to be from Sky about renewing insurance. Total scam, big red flag! Sky doesn't ring up customers themselves like that. It's a massive rip-off, so watch out for this number. Don't call back, or your bank might get emptied in a flash. I was lucky and spotted the scam straight away. Best thing to do is just block the number.

Definitely a con. Some bloke called Steve claiming he worked for Sky Engineering told me to call this number about my Sky Box Insurance running out. He said I got a letter back in June and if I don’t renew, I’ll be hit with a £120 charge. I reckon some of the comments here could actually be from the scammers trying to make it look genuine and worth it. Stay clear, seriously DO NOT TRUST!

Steve Johnson told me insurance for the equipment is £90 a year or if you want it for two years its £150.

Just got a ring from some bloke called David saying he was from SKY about an insurance thing for my gear. At first I was fooled, but something felt off when he kept pestering me to spell out my last name as it appears on my bank card. While chatting, I quickly looked up the number on Who Called Me UK and decided to hang up sharpish. For the next ten minutes he kept calling back non-stop, but after a bit he seemed to get the hint. Big thanks to Who Called Me UK and everyone sharing their stories. If it weren’t for this, I might’ve been taken for a ride.

Make sure you report every scam call to '<a href="https://www[.]actionfraud[.]police[.]uk/report-phishing">Action Fraud</a>'. The police need all these reports to understand just how widespread these scams are. Don’t just ignore it or hope someone else will deal with it. Under no circumstances should you agree to anything from an unsolicited call, and definitely don’t hand over any personal info.

I gotta say, their service really surprised me in a good way. They might not be Sky Protect or anything like that, but if they can deliver similar results for less money, then who cares about the brand right? I’d definitely trust them without a doubt.

I got a call from some bloke called 'Anosh' claiming he was from Sky. His accent sounded so fake and weird. Honestly, his English was terrible and all he wanted was my credit card details to take money. Definitely a scam, don't trust him!

This number rang my elderly mum claiming to be "Patrick" and managed to get £160 out of her for some sort of Sky Protect Insurance over two years. After finding out, I contacted the number they gave (02080890896), which they only provided after I asked mum's bank to stop the payment. When I rang, they put me through to a manager who insisted they were a legit company working with Sky. I ended the call but phoned back afterwards. Suddenly, they claimed the contract was cancelled and the money would be returned. It’s a total con targeting old people!

I managed to snag a cracking deal on breakdown cover for my Sky box. Spoke to a really nice lady called Sarah Miller who was super helpful and easy to chat with. It’s been about 18 days and they’ve already sent me a new remote and all the paperwork. Plus, they knocked nearly £89 off the price! Proper chuffed I managed to save some dosh. Cheers for the good service!

Got a call from someone claiming to be Sky, but we’re on the TPS so wasn’t expecting it. They came across as really pushy and quite rude too. Pretty sure they just wanted to get cash out of me if I’d let them.

This number rang me up pretending to be from Sky TV saying I had to renew some insurance. Thing is, I don’t even have Sky. When I questioned the person, he got really nasty. I told him to buzz off and ended the call. Afterwards, he kept ringing me and left some rude stuff on my answerphone. Proper annoying and feels a bit threatening too!

Definitely a SCAM! Someone rang me pushing really hard for £180 for a two-year plan and £99 for a single year. I felt off about it, so I grabbed her number and told her I’d ring back later. Then I phoned Sky directly using the number from their official site, and they said it wasn’t them at all. If she rings back, she’s in for a rude surprise from me, and I won’t hesitate to report it to the police if needed. Whatever you do, don’t hand over your bank details!

Just got a call from this number earlier today and unfortunately I got tricked into paying more than £160. After I realised it was dodgy, I called Sky Protect and gave them the number - they told me it sounds like a scam and advised me to get in touch with my bank. I ended up cancelling my card and blocking the payment. Definitely be careful with this one! B.L.EVES

02080890896 kept ringing me up, saying they were from Sky Protect. They were going on about some policy changes and wanted my account number straight away to sort it out over the phone - like they shouldn’t already have that info! They told me to call back on the same number and ask for this bloke “Alex” who sounded Asian. Honestly, I just hung up and blocked the number instantly. Avoid it!

My elderly mum got a call from someone pretending to be Sky Protect. She used to have Sky Protect before but I told her to cancel it because it seemed like a rip-off. Anyway, these scammers tricked her into giving her card info and took £80 straight out to a PayPal account. I only spotted it when I was going through her bank statements and looked up the number they called from. Absolute thieves.

Don’t answer, it’s definitely a scam. Just hang up straight away.
