Beware, this is definitely a con. They called me up knowing not just my job title but also details about my company, even named one of the other board members. We’ve been having problems with our energy bills recently and had asked about some charges. This caller said they were replacing our meter and needed to arrange a visit, promising a refund afterwards. They started quizzing me on personal info - which they should have had already. When they asked for direct debit info, I guessed it was dodgy. I checked with British Gas and they confirmed it’s a scam. Stay sharp!
