Got a call claiming to be from "O2" saying I could get 40% off, but seemed like a total scam trying to get my bank info. When I rang them back, they said they were "consultaty services" or something similar. Didn’t seem too happy when I mentioned my GDPR Subject Access Request either.

Yeah, had the same experience as plenty others here. Someone rang saying they were from O2 and had some exclusive deals. Thing is, I’ve never even been a customer with O2, so I’m pretty sure it was just another scam. These days, I just don’t bother answering calls from unknown numbers (and I’m pretty cautious, always double-check). It’s annoying how these lot persistently try to get personal info for who knows what shady reasons. Blocked the number and marked it as possible scam straight away.

So, O2 ring me up saying they can knock 40% off my bill. I ask what that actually means in savings, and she tells me 40% off what I was paying. Then she hits me with “if ya pay £300 upfront, you’ll get two whole years of service for free!” Yeah right, what a deal… 😂😂

So, I got a call from O2 saying they'd give me 40% off my bill. When I asked what that actually meant, they just said 40%, nothing more. Then they hit me with "pay £300 upfront and get 24 months free." Yeah right, sounds more like a joke than a deal! 🤣🤣

This is clearly a scam. From what I've read, they manage to get a code by entering some of your details, maybe just your number or email, on the O2 site. Then, O2 sends a one-time passcode straight to your phone, which makes you believe the caller is really from O2. Absolutely do not share that code with anyone! I've reported it to O2, and they know about this scam and the specific number being used.

I just had a call from this number, claiming to be representing O2. Since I'm an O2 customer, I let them continue talking. They sent me a code via text and promised a 50% discount on my bill. They even mentioned how much I pay monthly and had my address on file. I was on guard, expecting them to request my financial information, but they didn’t-something I definitely wouldn’t have disclosed. It all felt a bit dodgy. To top it off, I’ve just received an email notifying me that my O2 password has been altered.
