Just received a text from Halifax notifying me that a direct debit has been established in my name. However, I'm completely in the dark about this. They mentioned to ring this number if it wasn't authorised by me.

I reckon this number is dodgy, so I'd suggest you put it on your block list. After being bothered by four missed calls, I thought I’d ring it back, and an automated voice droned on about being from Carphone Warehouse. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!
