There was a lot of noise in the background, so I didn’t catch everything. They were saying something about Amazon noticing odd activity on my account around 2 am. I just ended the call straight away.

Got a call from someone claiming I was eligible for a bargain on a handset upgrade or a contract renewal. Definitely wasn’t from O2 though. Total scam.

Picked up the phone just to have silence and then the caller dropped the line, so I reckon it was a scam. I was just having a bit of a laugh, thinking they’d say some nonsense, but nope, nothing at all. The number showed as London, but I don’t know anyone there. I saw a show on BBC One recently explaining how these calls actually come from India but get routed through a UK centre to make the number look local, so folks are more likely to answer.
