Somebody rang saying they were from O2, saying I could get 40% off my bill coz of poor service. They sent a text with a one time code and asked me to say it on the phone. I told them I’d have to check the number first. They even tried to say they didn’t want any personal or money info but I didn’t give them the code they sent me!

I can't quite fathom why this number would be reaching out to me.

Just a couple of days back, I received a call from a chap sporting a foreign accent who claimed to be an employee of O2, stating he was part of their sales and promotions team. However, I can assure everyone without a doubt that this bloke was up to no good, as I've never had any dealings with O2 whatsoever.

Got a call from “O2” saying I could get 50% off. Told them I wasn’t interested and hung up, then this message from O2 popped up on my phone. Didn’t ask for any code at all. *WARNING* A one-time code is on its way to you. If anyone rings and asks for this code, just hang up - they’re not from O2. If you think it’s a scam, ring 202 straight away so they can keep your account safe.

020 8079 1393 rang me claiming to be from EE with a deal on a SIM card that sounded way too good to be true. I asked how I could verify it was really EE - the caller said they'd send me an email confirmation - so I gave them a gmail address. Sure enough, I got an email that looked like it was from EE. The email came from EE-SHOP.CO.UK But that domain is parked and has no MX record for emails - it’s just spam. I’m definitely reporting this.

Got a call from someone saying they were with O2, I asked a couple questions then just ended it and blocked the number right away.
