I received a rather alarming call from this number earlier today, claiming to be from Amazon. They alerted me to some suspicious activity on my account and insisted that I had been a victim of fraud. They urged me to download a particular app to help secure my account. They claimed that £1299 was being withdrawn for a purchase I didn't make and asked for details about my most recent transaction. They essentially wanted me to cancel this charge, but in the same breath, they requested access to my computer to resolve the issue. After a lengthy conversation that lasted around 45 minutes, they eventually transferred me to another department, as I requested verification and said I'd prefer to call them back or receive an email confirmation. It was a truly unsettling experience!
