Today, I received a rather alarming phone call from a gentleman whose accent was quite thick and foreign. He claimed that I was facing charges for tax fraud and insisted that I needed to settle all outstanding taxes immediately to avoid imprisonment. This entire scenario is nothing but a fabricated scheme intended to instil fear.

Received a rather dubious message pretending to be from HMRC, although it wasn't convincing at all. Still, it could genuinely frighten those unaware that it’s a scam. The tone was quite menacing, and anyone caught off guard or in a vulnerable state might feel compelled to return the call. Really distasteful behaviour. Best to delete and block them.
