some bloke called me saying he was from hmrc and told me i had a court case waiting, it proper freaked me out. but when i looked it up online i realised it was dodgy. told him straight it was a scam and he hung up on me.

Got a call about a refund of £3750 from some PPI claim and they said I wouldn’t have to pay any fees until the money was in my account. Oddly, I got the refund today just like they said. Still don’t understand what they get out of ringing me like that though, anyone know?

Just got called twice by these lot, had a go pretending to be interested to see what they wanted. It was spot on like others have said, same amounts and asking for iTunes vouchers and all.
I told them straight up it was a con and that I’ll be telling the Fraud team about them. Told the guy to stuff the money.
People like these really disgust me.

Just got a phone call like this, luckily I wasn’t fooled. They tried the usual trick asking for some money and to buy an I card or something like that. I told the bloke it was a dodgy scam and that he ought to be embarrassed, then I ended the call. Be careful, this kind of rubbish is disgraceful and I’m sure some poor souls will end up giving them cash.

Somebody calling from this number said their name was Brian Hawkins, which seemed a bit odd because they had an accent and knew all our details. Feels like it might be a scam, does anyone else think so?

Got a call from someone called Janet about a PPI refund, said I was owed 3750 quid. She then rang back telling me to buy an iTunes voucher for about 375 pounds. I pretended I couldn’t get one because I’m stuck out in the sticks. Janet then cheekily suggested I ask a taxi or even an ambulance to get me to the shop. I gave her a right earful, and she shot back with some choice words too.

Somebody rang up my mum pretending to be from the Ministry of Justice, saying she owed £3750. They said she had to get an iTunes card for £375 and give it to them when they came to deliver the money. It was obviously a scam.

The call was just like the others, talking about a PPI claim with the same fee they wanted to charge. They said they'd ring back in ten mins. The company name was F.C.A. The lady had a really thick Indian accent and I couldn't catch most of what she was saying. I pretended to go along with it for a bit but eventually got fed up and just ended the call.

I was informed that I was due to receive a payout of £3,750 from PPI. They claimed a postman would deliver the cash, but insisted I needed to pay them back 10% of that amount, which totals £375. They even mentioned sending it through places like Tesco for £50 or £30. I made it very clear that I cannot part with £375 while I'm still awaiting my £3,750. It's simply out of the question!

This number rang me too, and when I let the guy ramble for a while, I casually mentioned that the call was being recorded and asked if he thought I was an idiot. He just shouted some bloody awful swear words at me and then hung up. Just a heads up, be careful with this one!

Got a call from someone saying he was Brian Hawkins, FCA, with a thick Indian accent. He mentioned the exact same sum as others have talked about before. He gave me a claim number and went on about a payment being sent through Royal Mail soon. Never got a call back from their 'accounts dept' like they promised. I ended up ringing the FCA myself, who quickly said it was a scam and advised me to report it to Action Fraud.

Just got a ring from that same number, and they claimed I’m set to get £3,750 for a PPI claim today, but they'll take off 10% as fees (£350). The lady on the phone said her name was Christine Boyd, but she had a really thick Indian accent, and we struggled to understand each other - not quite what I’d expect from someone called Christine Boyd, if you ask me! Also, it’s a bit fishy that everyone seems to get exactly the same payout!

Like loads of others have said, got a call about some PPI claim I never made, promising money soon. They said they'd ring me back in about 10-15 minutes. After reading these comments, I just ignored the call completely.

This number rang me too, offering to help with a PPI claim for £3750, but said there was a £375 fee. When I got a follow-up call, they asked me to buy an iPhone gift card to cover the fee because they "couldn't take cash or cheques." Pretty sure if I went any further, they'd have asked for the card details again and I’d end up with nothing - no payout, just £375 gone for good. Definitely looks like a scam to me.

I got a call from this number telling me I have a PPI claim worth £3750. They claimed someone would visit me later and said I’d receive a phone call in about 10 minutes. That call never came. After checking some reviews here, I’m not picking up if they ring back.

I told my missus that if she really had a PPI claim, they’d call back. Sure enough, about 10 minutes later they phoned and claimed she was owed £3750. They said they’d send someone with the cash, but she’d need to hand over £375 in iTunes vouchers to the person delivering it. Honestly, my wife shouldn’t have even bothered chatting to them, but these lot must assume folks are daft to believe such a blatant con.
