Oi, I just had this rather dodgy pop-up flash up on my screen, insisting I ring a certain number. It warned me that failing to do so might result in my Internet getting shut off. Sounds a bit fishy, doesn’t it?

Such a pitifully lazy attempt at scamming! They answered my query and immediately went on the defensive. Cut the call short, and my phone is functioning perfectly fine. Best to steer clear of these chancers!

Today, I got caught out by a scam from this number. My laptop suddenly got locked with a pop-up telling me to call straight away, and I couldn’t use anything. When I called, a guy claiming to be from Microsoft took over my laptop to check for malware and said I was badly hacked. He said they had two free support plans and then transferred me to ‘Acer business solutions’ to sort it all out. In a panic, I ended up paying for the ‘full fix’. Later on, when I looked into it properly, I saw I’d been completely scammed.

This number called me and threatened to shut down my computer if I didn’t call back. It was really stressful trying to stop him from shutting it off.

My laptop suddenly showed a message telling me to call a certain number straight away. I couldn’t do anything on my computer, couldn’t even shut the window. I called the number and it was a total scam. Some bloke got remote access to my laptop after seeing the number on the pop-up and kept telling me I’d been hit by nasty "malware". He babbled for ages and then wanted £500 to fix it! Things got awkward when I said no, telling him it’d probably only make things worse. Don’t bother calling - just take your laptop to a proper repair shop.
