Got a call from Queen's Lane Consultants trying to pitch managing R&D claims for Corporation tax rebates to our company. They ask for 25% cut of any rebate they deal with. They seemed quite knowledgeable, but honestly, we've handled our own claims before and keep everything ourselves. For businesses not claiming at all, 75% of the rebate is definitely better than nothing, so I'd say they're fairly trustworthy.

Got a bloke on the phone with a posh voice asking for a John Overley. I said there’s no one by that name here, then he asked if it was me, which happens to be my middle name. He mentioned something about me and my husband being directors of The Dolphin Trust. We’ve never heard of it, so I googled it. Turns out it’s a German firm that’s gone bust owing loads of money. Would recommend blocking the number.

My phone showed the number 020 8062 0375 with the name "Gurkha Club" attached, which when I searched online linked to Gurkha Club Restaurant at 45 Lakedale Rd, London SE18 1PR. But the caller claimed they were from 'Currys' about upgrading my mobile plan. I don't even have a mobile plan with Currys. Seems to me they're either cloning the number or accidentally revealed where they're based!

Georgie - Claims to be checking back on a R&D inquiry I supposedly made. Funny thing is, this is the second time I've had a call like this within 2 days, but from another number. It's just pure pestering. They sound super polite and well rehearsed, trying not to upset you - but seriously, don’t get fooled!!

Someone said they were from Queens Lane Consulting and told me I could qualify for a Research & Development tax refund worth thousands. Then the call just dropped, and when I tried calling back, it wouldn’t connect. So now I’m looking this up. Seems from what others have said here that this number is tied to some kind of spam about car accidents.

At first, an automated voice tried telling me I'd been in an accident that wasn't my fault, asking if it was true. When I said yes, it connected me to a real person. I told them to remove me from their calling list and they just hung up on me. I've blocked the number now. Annoyingly, they even ring on a Saturday! I really want to find a way to report these muppets and have this nonsense ended.
