Got a random call from someone saying they're from "Compare Your Bill" about our electric deals. Never come across them before and we don't deal with any brokers anyway.

Got a call from 02000388270. I only gave this number out a couple of weeks ago when I joined this game called HQ trivia. The call was some robot voice so I told them to buzz off and then it just went quiet. HQ is run by some company called intermedia labs inc, and I’m trying to look them up to figure out what they’re really about. I also sent them an email asking why I’m getting these annoying calls but haven’t heard back yet. Their FAQs claim our numbers should stay private. Anyone else tried this app? Could it be them causing this?

i got a bit wary cause noone answered right away, so i hung up. just as the call ended, i caught a lady’s voice, so i’m not really sure who it was on the line.

Got a robo call about an accident they said I was part of. When I finally spoke to a real person, I asked where they got my info from and who they were, then they just cut me off! This feels like a GDPR violation since the 25th May rules came in!

This is a total accident scam. At the start, you get a lady with really good English, sounding all proper. But as soon as you say something or ask anything, she says she’ll pass you onto her manager. Then you end up with some typical call centre person from India who just hangs up if you want to know how they found your phone number.

Today I got a call from 0208 980 8885 and the lady on the line rudely told me to F### Off, even though I was well polite, especially since it sounded like a sales pitch.

Got a call while I was visiting the States, which ended up costing me a lot as receiving calls there is pricey. The lady on the phone claimed I’d been in an accident, which obviously isn't true. I told her straight up, “No, that’s not right, I know you’re just trying to scam me, stop calling,” and hung up. Now I’m getting loads of calls from numbers beginning with 0208, probably all from the same scammers. ICO, could you please do something about this?

The name sounded almost the same as the one mentioned before - they asked if I’d had an accident, I said yes but wasn’t worried - then quickly handed over to someone called "David" - he wouldn’t say the company name again or say where he found my number and just ended the call - number’s now blocked.

Some bot called Calamity Autobot rang me and only wanted a yes or no about if I’d had an accident. When I tried asking something else, it just kept repeating the same question but phrased differently. I’ve blocked the number and wouldn’t bother picking up again.

classic scam call about some accident nonsense. the woman said she was from this calamity advice place, but i had to keep asking her name like three times before she finally said it. i wanted to know how she got my number but she just ignored me and kept going on about it. when i kept questioning her she just cut me off!
