The person on the phone wanted to talk to me but got my last name wrong right from the start, which made me immediately wary. He spoke English quite well, though he had an accent that sounded Indian to me. I didn't give him any info on my identity; instead, I asked who he was and what the call was about. He claimed I was on a list of council housing tenants and asked if I needed any repairs sorted at my property. This confused me because I'm not a tenant of council housing. When I asked him to explain further, he changed his question to include both council and private tenants. But as soon as I asked where he had gotten such info, he just ended the call.
