I got a call from someone saying they were with EE and started by asking how my day was going. When I asked what the call was about, the line just went dead. The guy spoke with an Indian accent and I heard others chatting the same way in the background. Looks like some kind of UK-based Indian call centre. Totally feels like a scam, using that “how's your day” line to get you hooked.

These calls are pure spam, so the best thing to do is simply not pick up. When they hang up as soon as you answer, it’s because they’re checking if your number is actually active. Once you answer, they treat your number as ‘live’ and sell it on to dodgy firms. That’s how scammers get hold of people’s contact details and start pretending to be companies like EE, Amazon, or PayPal. If a number looks unfamiliar, the smartest move is to just let it ring out. Often, these calls come repeatedly over days, without leaving any voicemail, and you normally can’t ring back because the number won’t connect. Make sure you mark these calls as spam on your phone, block the number, and report it if possible. If you’re not sure how, ask a mate who knows. I received a call from this number, but there was silence on the other end and before I knew it, they hung up.

I received a call from this chap claiming to be Adam, though I doubt that’s his real name. He stated he was ringing from my mobile provider, promoting a 30% discount. Curiously, he inquired about my monthly bill. I pointed out that since he supposedly worked for my phone company, he ought to be aware of my charges. At that, he abruptly ended the call. Quite the dodgy character, if you ask me!

On the 5th of April 2023 at around 11:40 am, this number rang me but nobody said anything before just cutting off.

Someone rang me up, but the moment I picked up, they just went quiet and ended the call.

I got a call from someone claiming to be from the EE network but the voice was super robotic, like an AI or something. The way they spoke was so stiff and fake, it really made me suspicious straight away. I had a quick look up the number and turns out it’s not even connected to EE at all. Definitely felt like a scam call.

Got a missed call at 5:40pm on April 4th, which I wouldn’t have picked up anyway since it’s well past usual working hours and I don’t appreciate being bothered then. They weren’t saved in my contacts, so they’re getting blocked straight away. This is actually the second time today someone’s called me out of the blue!
