I had a similar experience! A woman rang me claiming to be from YourPreferences, all very chatty about some survey. I complimented her on her lovely accent and then decided to end the call. Quite the unexpected interruption, to say the least!

I’ve had a couple of calls from this number, and also from a near-identical one, 020 8058 5985. Both times, I just ignored it since my phone marked it as spam. I even blocked the numbers. But somehow, whoever it is has found a way around my blocking settings. I’ve also been getting calls from a mobile, 07557 558 690, and I’m pretty sure it’s the same lot trying every trick to get me to pick up. They must be getting really annoyed because I’m not falling for it.

Once I picked up the phone just to see who was calling and gave a firm "hello." I reckon they caught on straight away that I wasn’t about to spill any details, maybe even guessed I'd be wise to their game, because they quickly hung up. Now, I just don't bother answering unknown numbers. If I'd spoken like an old person, I'm pretty sure they would've stuck around to chat.

Got a call from a woman claiming to be from YourPreferences. She said she needed to ask me some questions. I asked where she got my details from, and she said I had filled out some online survey. I told her I never did any surveys online and asked again how she found my number, then she just ended the call.
