I received a rather dubious phone call today from a woman who supposedly works at Carphone Warehouse. She was going on about some special deal for the new iPhone 12, offering it at a reduced price! Today I picked up a call from a woman who was really persistent, claiming she was conducting a quick life insurance survey and that it would only take a minute. I told her I was tied up and not interested, but she insisted she’d ring me again later. They didn't leave any voicemail or anything. Honestly, I can’t bear these kinds of calls.

The voice on the other end was definitely female, but I struggled to make out anything she was saying; her accent was quite strong and distinctly Eastern. When I began to inquire about her identity and the nature of her call, she abruptly hung up. I can only deduce that this was some sort of scam or just a right nuisance.
