Got another dodgy call stopped but I’m sure they’ll try ringing from a different number next - that’s what always happens with these scams.

I've been getting loads of calls from numbers that look alike, and they keep asking if I'm so-and-so by saying my first name. They're annoyingly persistent!

This month alone, I've gotten calls from the same number like 14 times, always switching up the last four digits. I've blocked them but they just keep coming back. Definitely scammers, annoying as hell.

I got a call from a lady who mentioned my last name, which I confirmed was mine. She claimed I’d won a prize due to some purchases, but it sounded iffy. When I asked who she was calling on behalf of, she dodged it, just saying something about loads of catalogue firms. I quickly told her I wasn’t interested in anything she was pushing and then hung up.

I got a call from a woman who seemed to know my first name. She claimed I was eligible for a big cash prize thanks to something I supposedly bought from a catalogue. I told her I don’t actually use catalogues, so she said it was from May 2020! She didn’t say which catalogue it was though. I just said I wasn’t interested and hung up straight away.

Got a call saying I'd won a £50 voucher and they’d send me a magazine for free. Then they told me if I wanted to keep getting it, I'd have to pay a subscription costing £88! I told them no thanks to both the voucher and the magazine, and asked them not to call me ever again.

I got a call from someone claiming I’d won £70 worth of vouchers but I ended the call straight away. Seems like my area is flooded with spam calls lately, they’ve been nonstop recently.

Just got a call claiming to be from the US. They gave me some personal info and asked me to verify it. I asked what it was all about, and they started talking about winning a voucher for buying from some Easylife catalogue or something like that. I told them nicely they must have the wrong number and that I’m not interested in these cold calls. Then I hung up. Feels like a scam to me. I think this number has rang me before and stops if the answering machine picks up. Blocked now. If they keep ringing, it’s definitely harassment. Best just to hang up.

Got a call from someone really pushy trying to get me to join some pet insurance voucher scheme. It felt like such a waste of time. They already had my name and address, which makes me think someone must have given them my info without my permission.

I've had three calls from this number just today. The last one I actually answered, and the man said he was Sean from some kind of Rewards thing. I asked him who he was again, and he just repeated the same. He kept going on even though I kept saying I wasn't interested. At one point he said, "wait a minute madam," but I told him again to stop, and ended up hanging up while he was still talking. I'm 77 years old and usually these calls don't bother me, but I do worry about others my age who might find it really upsetting.

I recieved a call from this number recently. The lady on the line started mentioning a purchase I supposedly made back in 2020, even giving my name and address along with the items bought. I told her I wasn’t interested in any vouchers as I’d had some from Easylife before, but they got cancelled since they were for places I never used. Then she asked me a question, which I declined to answer. She kept repeating it a couple more times, saying I had to answer to keep the call going. I just told her I’d hang up, and promptly did.

I got a call from an Asian guy who actually knew my first name and said he’d be sending me £70 worth of vouchers. I’ve had a call like this before, so I was pretty sure it was a scam. I’m seriously over all these annoying calls from various 0208056**** numbers I don’t even have saved. Since I’m ex-directory, it’s super frustrating to get at least two calls like this every day. I recently got a new BT digital phone which lets me block numbers, so now I just add them to my block list straight away. Honestly, do these people have nothing better to do? The same thing is happening on my mobile, so I set up a block list there as well. It’s the only way to keep sane!

Beware of calls from this number! I reckon it's connected to EasyLife, TJC, or maybe one of their affiliates. They’ll ring you up about vouchers or subscriptions, even if you never signed up for anything. If you've ever shopped using credit with their partners, be cautious - they might sneakily take out multiple £9.99 charges from your bank. If you see this number popping up, best to get in touch with your bank right away and see if there’s any dodgy transactions. If there is, ask them to stop any further payments straight away.

Received a phone call on the afternoon of 19th August. Thankfully, I was somewhat prepared as I had already received a dubious call that morning claiming to be from my "Bank Security Department", but they didn’t mention my bank by name, so I promptly ended the call and blocked the number. The afternoon caller was a chap who rattled on at breakneck speed, the only thing I could decipher was him bleating about how I'd "save money every time." I swiftly hung up and utilised my phone's blocking feature. What’s unsettling though is how he seemed to have my details, like my full name and address. Where on earth could he have gotten that information?

I got something from Easylife and made sure to say no to any third party calls. When I picked up the phone the first time, the lady kept going on about Easylife even though I didn’t share any info with her. She said she’d send me a brochure full of discounts and that I could cancel whenever I liked, so I did. They’ve never taken any money but the calls have begun again, so now I just block them. I received a rather peculiar phone call earlier from someone claiming to be with IHG rewards. They informed me that, as a valued customer, I was due to receive vouchers to the tune of £75. They even had my address, which threw me a bit, as I couldn’t recall how they got hold of that information. Alongside the vouchers, they mentioned something about a free magazine subscription, with the first issue on the house. When I let them know I wasn’t interested in the magazine, the caller suddenly started speaking at lightning speed, making it impossible for me to get a word in. In the end, I decided it was best to just hang up. Quite the odd experience, to say the least!

I recently received a phone call from the number 02080561251. A rather cheery lady was on the line, claiming I'd won some vouchers from catalogues. Since I don't partake in such things, I firmly told her to leave me alone and not to ring back, as I suspected it was just another scam.

I recently got myself a call screening device, and it's been quite the experience. I’ve had two calls from this particular number, both times introducing themselves as an announced call. I answered one of them yesterday, only for the line to go dead. Fast forward to today, and I got yet another call from the same number. This time, it was a woman’s voice claiming to sound familiar, but I couldn’t place her, so I decided to cut the conversation short. After doing a bit of sleuthing on the number, it turns out there are some dodgy vouchers involved, with people pretending you've won something. Definitely going to block this one!

Looks like I’ve been on the receiving end of some relentless marketing for a magazine that appears to come out each month. They wouldn't let me say a peep! I'm under the impression they’re tossing in some vouchers to tempt you into subscribing. Honestly, I should’ve just hung up, but the cheeky lot already had my address-definitely not shared by me.
