I made it clear that I was having difficulty understanding her accent and that I suspected it was a scam. I firmly told her not to send me anything because I had no interest in it. To my surprise, she ended the call in a jiffy. What really raised alarm bells was that she also knew my first name!

Just like many others, I keep receiving offers for £70 vouchers, which is rather amusing since it surpasses the amount I spent on the items I purchased online! One can only hope that the trustworthy retailer I placed my order with isn't selling our personal information to these dodgy characters. I didn't let her get a word in edgewise; I hung up straight away. What a right nuisance!

However, being fully aware that there's no such thing as a free lunch, I swiftly hung up the phone.

I tried to get in touch with my wife, but when I inquired about the reason for the call, I didn’t receive any explanation. So, I decided to hang up.

I received a rather aggressive phone call claiming I was eligible for some vouchers and a complimentary trial of a magazine I’ve never heard of. Frankly, it felt more like harassment than a polite enquiry. I made it absolutely clear to them that I didn't want them to send me anything at all, nor did I wish to be enrolled in free trials that I'd then have to go through the trouble of cancelling. I warned them, quite firmly, that if they disregarded my wishes, I wouldn't hesitate to inform trading standards. It's concerning how they had my name, address, and home phone number on file.

I received a call from a woman with a bit of a Caribbean accent, mentioning something about rewards. The connection was poor, and I couldn't quite make out what she was saying, so I decided to end the call. After looking it up here, I’ve now opted to block the number.

Apparently, it's a 28-day trial with absolutely no strings attached, and I could still keep all these vouchers valued at around £100. Intriguingly, she didn't request any personal details, yet they seemed to know my address. I've gone ahead and blocked the number, so I suppose I won't be seeing any of that correspondence come through the letterbox.

Honestly, if someone's ringing you and there's no response, why not drop them a text instead? I personally tend to ignore calls from numbers I don't recognise.
