Just like others have said, they said they were from Dunn and Bradstreet, trying to update info about our company for some supplier's credit check. But it felt off since we haven’t reached out to any new suppliers lately, they didn't ask about sole traders and used an old address from about a decade ago. So whatever “verifications” they were doing seemed pointless to me.

Got a strange call today, they were asking loads about my business, said they were updating records or something. The weird thing is, they only seemed to know my address, nothing else. Bit creepy, really.

Just like lots of others here, they rang claiming to be from Dun & Bradstreet about a credit check for one of our vendors - but wouldn't tell us who. I told them to send an email instead as we don’t hand out any company info over the phone.

Got a call from someone saying they were with Dun & Bradstreet, wanted to check some business info they supposedly had. When I asked them to prove they really worked there, they couldn’t and it was obvious they were just reading off a list. The lady spoke English with what sounded like an Indian accent. Pretty sure it was a scam.

Might be a scam, honestly. A woman with a strong accent called me, saying she was from Dunn and Bradstreet, and asked for some personal info. Felt suspicious straight away.

They called me too asking loads of questions, but I couldn’t really help much. They wanted to know stuff like when our business began, which I honestly had no clue about. So, I just gave them my name, said I just do my job, and mentioned my boss’s name and that we’re linked to another company. Still, why bother ringing us up for this info? Especially as a business... makes no sense!

Heads up! I’d only just signed up for my business DUNs number when this number rang me the very next day. They already had my name and business details and talked about verifying extra info, but DUNs told me I’d get everything by email within a few days.

My advice? Just ignore or block. It’s a man with an Indian accent on the line, speaking English but pretty tough to make out.

They already had my phone number and even my trading name, which was a bit surprising. The caller tried to push some nonsense about updating info for a directory or something like that, which I’m pretty sure I’m not listed in since I never signed up. She asked me a bunch of personal questions, probably to get more info out of me, but she couldn’t answer any herself - seems dodgy, right? I ended up having a bit of a moan about not knowing her company and the fact her accent was hard to follow. Before I could ask her to send me something in the post, she just hung up. Would say best to ignore these calls, definitely not worth it.
