Just got a call from 02080514909 pretending to be from the emergency transplant and blood donation line. Totally anonymous and annoying. I’ve gone ahead and blocked it - anyone else getting this, do the same! These calls could end up stopping a real urgent blood transfusion for someone who really needs it. I've also reported them to BT and Ofcom to try and get them sorted legally. Such a waste of time and dangerous!

I received a call from a company called Eon initially. The person on the line seemed untrustworthy so I ended the call. I contacted Eon again and got the information I required. Later, my phone rang and it was an individual from this same number claiming, "I am not a complete fool!" Well, my friend, that is certainly debatable. I have informed Eon about this incident, so perhaps you should consider hiding your own number next time you want to express your anger towards someone over the phone, you absolute disgraceful individual.

I rang Eon with a few questions and got through to a bloke called 'Pete', who wasn’t much help at all, so I ended the call. Not long after, I got a ring from an 020 number, and it was 'Pete' again, this time telling me he definitely wasn’t a 'complete idiot'. This was after he’d said my query was 'suspicious'. I’d say if you owe Eon Next and have gone through Charis Grant for debt help, the call is legit. Though it really varies on who you get on the phone, like my first caller was super helpful and polite. But the second one I got was a nightmare, rude and sounded like he never left his mum’s house or done any paying of bills himself.

Got a call from some woman with a funny accent, really monotone and hard to get what she was saying. Yesterday (20th Oct) I got a call from someone named Mitchel claiming to be from EonNext. He wanted me to ring back on what sounded like EonNext's valid number, but I didn't call. Then today (21st Oct) he rang again, asking to verify some security details to chat about my account. I told him I couldn't be sure he was really from EonNext and he had no proper response. About 20 minutes later, another call came from the same number but with a different person asking for someone they said lived here - but we don't know that name at all. Feels like a dodgy scam to me!

I’m not completely convinced this was Eon Next, but they had all my details - my name, email, the amount I owe, how much my direct debit is, and even my usage. Strange thing is, they never asked for any payment.

I received a call from someone claiming to be from Eon, stating that they wanted to check the state of my account. However, they refused to discuss the reason for the call until I provided them with personal details, which I declined to do. I mentioned that I recognized the phone number as being from Greater London (020), to which she responded with an obvious lie saying, "no, I'm calling from South Africa". It was clear from her garbled and unintelligible accent that this claim was false. Without hesitation, I ended the call and added the number to my blocked list.

I got a call from someone saying they were with EON Next, which really alarmed me because how do they even have my info? They tried telling me I owe money even though my payments go through direct debit. It's pretty concerning that people can leave messages here pretending to be genuine like that.

Got a call from someone saying they're with EONnext, saying there was an issue to sort out and that I had to provide my full name, date of birth, address, email, and phone number before they could explain anything. When I asked what the call was about first, they just kept insisting on getting my information before giving any details. Feels like a bit of a scam to me, just fishing for personal info.

Got a call from someone saying they were with EON Next, asking for me by name and claiming I’d got another account under my name in the town I live in. When I asked for the house number, the woman said 306. I requested she send me an email with the details but she claimed she didn’t have my email address. Puzzled, I asked where she’d found my info and she said it was from some site called investigate.gbg.plc.com, said it was a national database or something. The caller’s name was Raven. I told her I wasn’t going to answer any more questions and hung up. Then I phoned EON Next myself, and they told me this number was unknown to them and there was no extra account linked to me. They said whenever they put in my phone number, all my account details appear straight away. Oddly, when I rang that 0208 number once more, it actually went straight to EON! It was all quite confusing, but I’m pretty sure it was some kind of scam to fish for personal info.

I got a call from a number claiming to be EON, saying I owed some money and needed to pay over the phone. They already had my name and address, which freaked me out a bit. I told them I’d check my account online first because it felt off. After hanging up, I quickly googled the number and found mixed reviews - loads said it was definitely a scam, but some claimed it was legit. They rang back the same day, pushing for payment again, but I refused and hung up. Shortly after, I got an email from the person I’d spoken to, insisting it wasn’t a scam, but it didn’t look anything like the usual EON emails I get. Then I called EON directly using the number from their official website. Turns out, I didn’t owe a penny, but they did see the suspicious email I’d received. The rep sounded puzzled, because apparently someone at EON had actually sent it. I didn’t ask if they had records of the calls though, that was a mistake. Honestly, I reckon it’s probably a scam, but maybe some employees at EON are involved and leaking details. If this number contacts you, don’t share personal info - just ring EON yourself to check.

About three days back I got a call from this number, and the woman was talking about some Eon Next stuff. I told her straight up, "You're a bunch of crooks, I don't owe Eon Next anything." Then today, another person rang from this same number, but I didn’t bother picking up and just blocked it.

Got a call from Harryson at Eonnext, pushing me to clear some arrears and hike up my direct debit. Felt fishy so I said no and told him to ring me back tomorrow. Then he sent an email to Flirfax with wrong info. I replied straight away and soon after got another email from him full of dodgy grammar saying ignore the first email. I‘ve contacted Eonnext and sent them screenshots of everything.

somebody rang me saying they were from eon and told me i owe like £1900 from nov 2020 to feb 2021 but i was paying about £500 every month for electric. these lot are really dodgy. i told her if this is the govt in the uk i’ll be reporting them and both her and her boss should be locked up.

+44 20 8051 4909 keeps ringing my 12 year old daughter’s new phone, which is on a plan under my name. They claim to be from Eon Next about utility services in Salford! We’re based in Norfolk and she’s just 12 lol

After reading the comments here, I’m curious how they manage to get hold of some folks personal details. Received three consecutive phone calls, but chose not to answer as I have previously encountered numerous scam calls. It's my practice to refrain from picking up calls from unfamiliar numbers. After reading some comments here, I can't help but speculate on how these scammers manage to obtain fragments of people's personal information. It's possible that there might be unscrupulous individuals within legitimate companies or even former scammers attempting to acquire information for malicious purposes.
