FRAUD ALERT - STEER CLEAR - Authentic EHIC applications should only be processed through the NHSBSA, and let me assure you, they will never send you a notification about your card nearing its expiry.

The atrocious spelling and grammar in the email from [email protected] is a blatant indicator that this is a con.

I've reported the email as spam and I will absolutely disregard it.

STAY AWARE, AT ALL TIMES.

I’m in need of £24.99 to renew my EHIC, any chance you could lend a hand?

I got an email from EHIC regarding a reminder for my expiration, and it seemed quite legit. I shared some personal details, including my name, address, National Insurance number, and EHIC number. But then they insisted that I pay over the phone, which struck me as odd. Why on earth would they do that? Shortly after, I received a call from the number 020 8050 2461, and let me tell you, it raised all sorts of red flags! Naturally, I refrained from disclosing any credit card information. It just didn’t sit right with me at all.

I rang the number provided to sort out my EHIC card and passed along my name, address, date of birth and national insurance number. They then informed me that I needed to make an immediate payment, which threw me off a bit and I hung up. They sent the information to my email, but thankfully I didn't share any banking details, so I hope I'm in the clear.

I've received a dodgy email claiming to have an EHIC number which they say has expired, even though mine is still valid. It directs you to a rather sketchy link-best not to click on that under any circumstances!
