Someone called my work number from 02080509867, said her name was Suzanne Taylor and wanted to talk to my manager. I asked who she was, and she gave her name. Then, as usual where I work, I asked which company or location she was calling from. She just ended the call right away before I got to ask any more questions.

Got a call from some b**** scammers trying to pull that "unpaid invoice" trick on our church. At first, the woman seemed pretty convincing, but then you catch that sharp, sneaky tone in her voice - total nightmare to deal with.

Got a call from someone named Louise about a school safety thing, she actually knew my name and the company I work for. But when I started asking questions, she just hung up on me. Over the last three months, I've had a woman from CIC ring me up on four different occasions, claiming my company agreed to pay for some anti-bullying programme/books. Every time I ask her to send the info by email so I can check it properly, she just cuts the call. We never agreed to anything like that. Sounds like a scam to me.

They said they were from a firm named cic and asked which school should get the leaflets. They kept going on about how grateful they were for our contribution. Then suddenly they wanted £199 for it! They offered to take the payment on the phone and said they'd knock off £30. Total con job.

I honestly had no memory of agreeing to anything like that, never give the go-ahead over the phone without getting an email with terms and conditions first, and there was nothing to back it up in my records. When I asked for proof and explained this, they just cut me off. Really dodgy tactic trying to squeeze money out of you, so watch out!
