3 yearsI received a phone call from someone claiming to represent a company whose name I just couldn’t grasp. They were offering me a rather generous 40% discount. It reeked of a scam, naturally, yet I had a moment to spare. I probed him repeatedly about the name of the company, but each time, his response was garbled and unclear. Just to clarify, I pressed him once more to specify who he was calling from, and he mumbled something along the lines of ‘whoever supplies your service’. At that, I couldn’t help but chuckle and pointed out that he was clearly up to no good.3 yearsI have serious reservations about this call. The individual on the other end professed to be with O2, offering some sort of "exclusive offer". They then asked for a code that they claimed would be sent from O2 to my phone. However, the accompanying text from O2 clearly states that they would never request such a code. When I pressed the caller for clarity, they insisted the code was needed for verification and that O2’s message was inaccurate, which raises numerous red flags. It certainly seems like they're attempting to obtain sensitive account information. The name she provided was "Sophie Smith," but I find that highly suspect.
