Some bloke rang me claiming to be from a company, but I couldn't make out the name he gave. He said he’d give me a whopping 40% off something. Pretty clear it was a con, but I wasn’t busy so I played along. I kept asking him which company he was with, but every time he mumbled and wasn’t clear. Eventually, I pressed him again to name the company outright, and he just said something like ‘the provider of your service’. I couldn’t help but chuckle and called him out as a scammer right there and then.

I reckon this is a scam. Someone rang me saying they were from O2 with some "exclusive offer." They then asked me to read out a code sent by O2 to my phone. The text from O2 clearly said they would never ask for this code. When I questioned the caller about it, she insisted it was for verification and that the message must be wrong. Sounded really dodgy to me. Feels like they want to grab my account info. The lady on the phone said her name was "Sophie Smith," but I’m pretty sure that’s made up. She told me to ring her back on 0745 644 1356.
