Had a rather dodgy cold caller trying to pull a fast one on me. Definitely a scammer!

Got called again by one of those scams. Just ignored it, like usual.

I usually don’t pick up calls from unknown numbers, so I left this one ringing. What’s odd is they never bother to leave a voicemail. Makes me think it’s probably some kind of scam.

When I answered the call, there was complete silence on the other end. It’s clear this is some sort of scam attempt.

Typical signs of a dodgy telemarketer, I must say - a few moments of dead air, followed by the unmistakable hubbub of a call centre. Then you hear, “Hello? Hello? Am I speaking to Mr Smith?” in that unmistakable South Asian accent. I replied, “Who’s asking?” He said, “I’m ringing concerning the warranty for your kitchen gadgets.” Now, let me clarify, there isn’t any warranty on those items, so I quipped, “I don’t have a clue about any warranty.” He then attempted, “Could I speak to the man of the house?” I shot back, “What’s it to you?” This back and forth went on a couple of times until I’d had enough. I called them out for what they truly are - con artists - and swiftly cut the line.
