Calls like this began last week and have been coming fairly often since, mostly from different but similar numbers. 020 3190 8702, 020 2052 2690, 020 3868 3382, 020 8034 5914, 020 3868 3554, 020 3190 8756, 020 3190 8739, 020 3190 8742 (twice), 020 8034 5915 and even 01753 441520. Whenever I pick up, there’s a pause long enough to tell it’s an autodial before they hang up. I’ve stopped answering most of these and blocked some, but they somehow keep coming from new numbers. Seems like BT might have assigned these numbers to a company or call centre.

Got a call from Amy at the Accident Dept. Was actually pleased to get the ring. She said I’d been in an accident. Then she passed me onto an Asian bloke who started asking loads of questions. He wasn’t too impressed when he found out I was chatting about the ‘accident’ I had in my trousers after a night of getting absolutely plastered! Haha, proper funny!

Got a call from an Asian bloke saying I'd been in an accident. So I played along, telling him there were a dozen of us on a motorbike, hit by a UFO, and we all died, me included. I avoid picking up calls from unknown numbers, usually just letting them ring out. Afterwards, I look up the number online and, no surprise, it’s the same annoying junk. These companies should really get their calling lists sorted, but doubt they want to spend the cash on that. I’m on the TPS (Telephone Preference Service) and it’s legit - there are hefty fines for hassling people on their list. Still, I suppose these pests will have to find out the tough way.
