Got a call from someone claiming to be Microsoft tech support saying they needed to fix my "issues." The bloke called himself Joseph Romeo. I told him to buzz off and hung up. He rang me back, so I told him again to shove off - clearly a scam. Then he got annoyed and started threatening to shut down my computer, which obviously never happened. I’m puzzled how they got hold of my number since I’m ex-directory. When I asked for his number, he gave me an 0800 number, but my caller ID showed 02080112233. I’ve had a few calls like this before, but it had been months since the last one. Looks like they’re back at it again. Cheers for reading!

Given the tech nowadays, BT should have no trouble tracking down these calls and putting an end to them. I reckon these firms are probably buying the numbers off some third party for peanuts.

In just under a day, I've gotten four calls from this number. Twice came through in the afternoon, one in the evening, then again early this morning. Every time I pick up, it disconnects after only a few seconds, and I hear the dial tone. Trying to call back leads me to a message saying "the number you have dialled has not been recognised", which is quite odd.

Got a call from some bloke claiming to be from Microsoft this morning around 11:48, saying my computer was in danger or something. Dunno where they got my number from since I’m ex-directory! I just told ’em I hadn’t noticed any problems and hung up straight away.

I decided to ring them back, but guess what? The number turned out to be non-existent! Seriously?

So I got a call on my home phone around 9.15 at night, some bloke telling me I needed to log into my PC so he could help me sort out like 15 problems or something. Dunno how they even got my number. What annoyed me was I had to ask him thrice who he was working for because all he’d say was “system support.” Definitely not happy about that.
