02080088821: Got a call from a bloke claiming to be from some kind of call-blocking team. He asked if I’d been getting any annoying calls lately. I said “No”, which was true at the moment, even though I’ve had plenty before. Weirdly, he already knew my name and where I live. Whenever I reckon someone’s a scammer, I like to keep them chatting without revealing anything new. I do this little trick where I lightly tap the phone and say it’s a noise my phone uses to track them, then I don’t hold back on telling them what I really think.

I've had three calls from this number already today. They claimed to represent the Telephone Management Service, trying to sell me an upgrade for my call-blocking service. It felt very dodgy - they were asking for £21.99. Just so you know, the Telephone Preference Service doesn't charge anything. It's quite concerning, really, as they appeared to have a fair bit of personal information about me.

Got a call from a robot voice, sounded like it might’ve been Japanese or something, then it quickly passed me over to a young Asian guy talking about "call blocking." I told him straight up to stop scamming and to remove my number from wherever he got it, then hung up. Checked with 1471 and it said this number’s unknown. They keep ringing in the daytime, as if they’re trying to catch people while we’re home. Proper annoying.

Got calls buzzing nonstop like twice an hour all day long! Lucky thing I’ve got BT Call Guardian blocking them straight away - otherwise I would’ve never even guessed since I only see missed calls when I look later each night. Had loads of calls from this number. At first, some Asian woman spoke but I couldn’t catch what she was on about. Then a guy with an Asian accent got on the line, claimed he was from the Telephone barring service, and weirdly knew both my name and where I live. Next, he started asking me about the expiry date on my debit card. I told him to jog on and ended the call. I’ve got call barring set up through Talktalk so I didn’t expect anyone else ringing me.
