I’m pretty sure this was a scam. I used my Revolut card just to be safe, and thankfully they spotted an unauthorised charge of £101.70 and blocked it within like 10 minutes after the first £6.99 went through.

Watch out, these folks are total con artists pushing all sorts of cheap deals on TikTok, Facebook, and most likely Instagram and X as well. A mate of mine fell for one buying cheap ciggies on Facebook. He paid about £9.99 first and then, just a few minutes later, another £99.99 was taken from his account. After digging around a bit, it turns out it’s a classic scam running on those social media sites. If some deal looks way too good to be legit online, trust me, it’s NOT!!!

Loads of folks have already pointed out how this is a complete rip-off. Stay clear from this lot, don’t even think about getting involved with their deals or contests. I rang CC company right away once I got wind of it, but it's too late - they’d already nicked some cash from my account!

I had a similar experience with the number 02079938435 that I received. The website linked to it appears to be non-existent, which makes me feel rather foolish, to say the least. Usually, I take great care with these things. Thankfully, they only managed to siphon a small sum off me.

Definitely a scam. I was charged £9.99 as it said, but even though it claimed to be a UK site, my bank alert showed it was in dollars. Shortly after, they managed to take £100.98 without my permission. I had no choice but to cancel my card straight away. The bank didn’t seem much help at all. Lost around £110, but at least I stopped them from taking more.

Much like some of the other posts, I found myself in a rather peculiar situation when I supposedly "won" an Air Fryer from Aldi. I received a confirmation for the order, yet there was no mention of a cost attached. Upon checking my banking app, I noticed something odd. My Barclays Visa Credit Card didn’t show the expected £9.99 charge; instead, there were two transactions for £8.67 and a hefty £101.52 for something labelled Pulsemaxproconnect. I wasted no time and got in touch with Barclays right away.

Connected to an internet con, this number seems intent on siphoning off more cash from your account following an initial purchase. They lure you in with offers on discounted products in exchange for completing a brief three-question survey. Just moments after the first payment was processed, I noticed they tried to initiate a second charge - tenfold the sum of what I had just paid! Luckily, I was using a Monzo card which had a balance of under a tenner, so thankfully, that attempt was blocked. I'm in the process of trying to recover the original funds but be wary; it’s all too easy to fall for it!

I had a similar experience - fell for that dodgy Aldi air fryer offer on Facebook for just £9.99. I foolishly authorised the payment through my bank, and it turned out to be a charge from FusionPetShop.com for £8.71. When I reached out to my bank to flag the transaction, they informed me that they’d already put a freeze on my card, as an additional charge of £101 had been attempted. Luckily, my bank's not as easily fooled as I seem to be! Now I'm just biding my time for a new card to arrive.

I paid £9.99 after seeing an ad on YouTube, but my bank only took £8.91. Turns out the £9.99 price was actually $9.99, and with the exchange rate at the time, it came to £8.91. I tried ringing the number on the order confirmation today because I never got what I paid for, and it was a scam. My bank also called me because a company called WONDERDRONE tried to take a big chunk of money from my account, but they blocked it. Be careful with this lot!

I've noticed they're advertising over on Facebook too, quite similar really - just a small charge for postage and all that jazz. However, they managed to swipe around £400 from my account through three different transactions in pounds, yet the postage was charged in a different currency, which I found rather peculiar. Thankfully, I used my credit card, so I should be able to reclaim it all. Moving forward, I'll certainly be more cautious; it’s a wake-up call for sure. I've come across some chatter regarding the phone number 020 7993 8435, which some reckon could be dodgy. I received it after coughing up £10.98 for what I was led to believe was a win for an 85-inch Samsung plasma television in a competition on the 27th of May 2024. They also provided an email, [email protected], which popped up when I was browsing Amazon. I thought it was a legitimate competition they were running, especially since the boxes were all knackered and they couldn’t sell them at their usual price. Now, I'm rather hesitant to give them a bell for an update on my TV's delivery, as I can’t shake off the feeling this might be a bit of a con.
