I received a call from this number and the individual left a courteous message on my home answering machine. Curious, I decided to ring them back. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a dodgy sales pitch, so I swiftly concluded the conversation. Remarkably, this all took no more than 53 seconds. Upon reviewing my phone bill, I was shocked to see that returning that call set me back a staggering £12! Never again will I fall for that trick.

THIS NUMBER NEVER MAKES CALLS It seems this is just a placeholder number that’s been assigned to your phone, originating from Cable & Wireless. It pops up when the network can’t identify the caller. Quite honestly, I think it’s a complete nuisance and serves no real purpose. Just a heads-up, Cable & Wireless also provides network services for Tesco and several others.
