I've attempted to get in touch with this lot via both phone and email, but to no success. This all kicked off back in August when they dispatched a couple of gizmos from "caller protect". They somehow managed to persuade my dad to purchase one back in February, just before he passed away, and have subsequently been withdrawing payments straight from the bank. Recently, they reached out to my mum again, who kindly took down the number as I was the one handling these issues. Lo and behold, when I tried to ring the number it said it was non-existent! What a carry on!

A few days ago I got a call from a woman who sounded really convincing, she claimed she was part of some call prevention service. She insisted that last December I’d signed up to block nuisance calls, which I’m sure I never did. According to her, I’d given permission over the phone and even shared my bank details, which is something I'd never agree to. She said I owed £92.98 but I could pay it by 1st December. She tried to confirm my bank info and even mentioned the first four digits of my card, which made me feel uneasy. I told her I hadn’t received any letters or emails and I needed something official before I said anything else. Meanwhile, I told my bank that this company supposedly had my bank details, but only those first four numbers. The bank said that those digits aren’t unique to me, lots of cards from that bank start the same way.

I’m really happy I looked this site up. They called me and when I answered with a simple hello, they just hung up! So I just did the same. But turns out they hadn’t actually ended the call properly, and later when I tried to dial out, I saw the call had been running for over 5 hours! Luckily, I haven’t been charged anything, but honestly I hope they got billed for it. At least now I know exactly who they are!

Without much warning, she snapped that the service would be cancelled if I didn’t give them the info, then suddenly ended the call.

Apparently that firm doesn't operate anymore - it was officially closed down back in April 2016. If you look up 'call prevention service' on Companies House, you'll see all the info. Definitely feels like a total scam to me.

just like a few here, i got a guy calling telling me ive got an account with them, he got proper annoyed when i said he sounded dodgy. then he started saying id paid near £97 a couple months ago and even rattled off my actual bank card digits! honestly, that freaked me out - how do they even get that info? i double-checked and nothing showed up, but i still reported to tps again. if more folks do that, hopefully it pushes these scammers right up the priorities.

I received a call from this number earlier today. An articulate gentleman on the line introduced himself as being from the Call Prevention Service. Peculiarly, he claimed I had signed up for their service back in August 2015. However, I haven't enrolled in anything of the sort, which immediately raised my suspicions about it being a scam. He mentioned that November (if I recall correctly, he said the 8th) would mark the beginning of my second year with them. Quite amusing really, as if I had indeed registered in August 2015, I should have been with them for well over 14 or 15 months by now! The moment he stated that I would need to fork out £7.99 to renew my so-called second year, I swiftly ended the call. It's a rather low amount compared to what I’ve seen others mention here, but nothing could entice me.

Just a quick add-on to what I said before - CALL PREVENTION SERVICES LIMITED, with the company number 09194454, was based at Flat 3, 14 Nelson Rd, Bognor Regis, England, PO21 2RY. Problem is, it was dissolved back on 12 April 2016. Sounds like a total scam to me!

These lot have been ringing non stop this week! At first they just wanted to chat with my husband, but today they asked for me. They claim I signed up for some contract last year and now I owe £97 to stop the calls. I told the woman straight up I never agreed to any such thing and I’m certainly not paying for some service when I’m bombarded with calls all day. She just said “we’ll take you off the list!” What a load of rubbish. I’m on the TPS and still they keep ringing! Such scammers.

Over the past couple of days, I've had four calls from these people. A very polite woman claimed I’d signed up with them last year, which I definitely didn’t. When I mentioned my phone provider already gives me this service at no cost, she snapped back that nothing is free nowadays! When I kept disputing her, she promised to remove my number from their database. We'll see about that... Tried calling them back and it just rings endlessly with nobody picking up, not surprising at all.

Today at 1pm I got a call from this number. The person on the other end said I set something up with them last September and mentioned loads of calls from China and India on my phone. Then they told me my free year had ended and I needed to pay a £96 lifetime fee. I kept saying I didn’t remember signing up for anything, but she insisted I did. She even gave me the first four digits of my card and asked which bank it was from. I wasn’t really thinking and ended up telling her when she pressed for my bank details again, but then I quickly ended the call.

This company has rung me twice now. Like the other people have mentioned, I was told I supposedly signed up last November and now owe £98.99 for a lifetime membership. I told them I couldn’t really pay right now and wanted to speak to my husband first. She promised to call back, which she has just done, and asked if I was ready to pay. If you get a call from this number, do yourself a favour and just ignore it - they’re total scammers, and honestly, they’re pretty slick at what they do! When you question them, they can get downright rude and aggressive. They might sound like they have your full details including your surname and address, but don’t be tricked into thinking someone in your home has signed up for anything - they grab that info way too easily, just like they do your phone number. Also, don’t be alarmed if they seem to know part of your bank details like your first four digits or sort code, it’s all a scam to get you to trust them. Best advice is just to hang up straight away.

If I don’t answer with a hello, they just drop the call straight away. Sometimes they talk about Nuance calls, and when I say yes, they act like they know me or something. If they’d just stop ringing, I wouldn’t have a problem. They put on pressure, but I just end the call. Now they’re all lumped in my spam, so I just don’t even bother.

I tried to find out where exactly they operated from, tried London, and when I asked for the company's exact location she just hung up. I got a call from this number claiming that back in May 2015, I supposedly signed up for a call blocking service costing £49.95 or 5 instalments of £7.95. They asked for my bank details which made me suspicious. When I asked more questions, the person got quite annoyed and said that head office would ring me to explain how the direct debit works and that the full amount will be taken. I requested them to send the paperwork again, but I can’t seem to find any info about this company online.

The bloke said his name was Sean Evans, working for something called call prevention service. Wouldn't give any bank details though, and then started getting a bit narked when I asked. Got a phone call today just before noon from a woman saying she was calling from some call blocking company I supposedly signed up to last year - which I definitely didn’t. She had my name and address, which was a bit odd. She said they could help stop those annoying calls I keep getting from India, Pak*stan, and even China (odd one that). Then she asked me to pay a one-off fee for a lifetime membership or set up a direct debit for yearly payments. When I told her there’s no way I’m giving my bank details on the phone (not daft enough for that), she suddenly got quite nasty and said she’d have to pass me on to her manager. I just hung up straight away.

Got a call just now from a well-spoken lady claiming to represent a call-blocking service I supposedly signed up to last November for £49.99 (which I'm sure I never did!). She told me I was still getting nuisance calls because these were international ones coming from places like India, Pakistan, and Egypt. She said they've finally got permission to block these, but I’d need to pay £98.99, which was now due, and after a couple of weeks, the calls would stop. When I said no way and that I never paid a thing last year, she quickly switched her story saying, "Oh, the first year was free!" I made it clear I wasn’t paying, and then she went on about a contract and how I owed the money. She threatened to report it to her "Head Office" and warned me of further consequences. I just hung up and now I’m waiting to see what kind of nonsense they try next.

Got a call from this number a bit ago, saying something about nuisance calls and that I supposedly signed up for a service a year ago to stop them. Got a call from someone saying he was from a government agency that deals with stopping annoying calls. He already knew my name and where I live, and said I’d signed up for some kind of plan back in June 2015 to block these calls. He then said that since the plan ran out, I had to pay up to keep blocking all the spam, including calls from abroad and the UK. I told him I don’t recall ever signing up for anything like that and also that I wasn’t giving him any money. I get like six or seven spam calls a day anyway. He said he’d pass my “policy” on to his head office and then just hung up on me!

Got a call from this number earlier, bloke said he was from the government about nuisance calls and wanted to update my details. Seemed alright at first, he sounded English and explained something about stopping calls from outside the UK and now charging for them. I found it quite interesting, but I guess I’ve got more cautious these days with all the scams going around. Lucky for me, he didn’t ask for my bank info, which I’m pretty sure I never gave out anyway.
