Phone number ☎️ 02079521499 👆 is reported as a persistent scam involving calls from individuals claiming to represent a “Call Prevention Service.” Callers assert the recipient signed up for a nuisance call blocking service, which never actually occurred, and demand payment - typically around £98 - for supposed ongoing or lifetime protection. They pressure for bank details, sometimes quoting partial card numbers, to appear credible. Many recipients warn these calls are aggressive, deceptive, and from a company that has been dissolved for years. Attempts to verify or contact the organisation fail, and refusal to pay leads to threats or hang-ups. The consensus advises ignoring such calls, never sharing financial information, and reporting the number to the Telephone Preference Service, as this is a well-documented fraud targeting vulnerable individuals.

Received a ring from 02548996357, some bloke with an Asian accent claiming he was from some call prevention service in London. He tried to get me to sign up for a yearly subscription, just like what others have said about this scam.

I've attempted to get in touch with this lot via both phone and email, but to no success. This all kicked off back in August when they dispatched a couple of gizmos from "caller protect". They somehow managed to persuade my dad to purchase one back in February, just before he passed away, and have subsequently been withdrawing payments straight from the bank. Recently, they reached out to my mum again, who kindly took down the number as I was the one handling these issues. Lo and behold, when I tried to ring the number it said it was non-existent! What a carry on!

Totally not worth it, just a massive rip off. Avoid it completely.

I got a ring from this number earlier today, where they were soliciting £98 for a supposed lifetime membership to something called the Phone Preference service. When I declined to fork out any cash, they promptly ended the call. How dodgy!

I got a phone call earlier today with a lot of information, and they mentioned taking £98 from me. Is that even possible?

I’m really pleased I stumbled upon this website! They gave me a ring, but the moment I answered with a polite greeting, they hung up on me! So, I figured I’d do the same. However, to my surprise, they hadn’t actually hung up, and when I went to make a call later on, I discovered I’d been connected for over five hours! I made sure to check my billing, just to be on the safe side, but fingers crossed they were charged for their cheeky little stunt-at least now I know exactly who it was!

I received a call from them claiming that I owed £98 for some service or other. I told them I had no intention of paying it and hung up without a moment's hesitation.

I, too, received a call from this number. A rather articulate lady was on the line, claiming that I had signed up about a year ago. She mentioned that the initial year was dedicated to monitoring the system to pinpoint the numbers that had caused me hassle. Then, she stated that they were about to set up a direct debit of £98, asking me to confirm my details. When she requested my bank account number, I politely declined to share it. She insisted it was necessary to continue, but I suggested she send me the contract via email first, and I'd get back to her after I'd had a chance to review it. To my surprise, she curtly declared that the service would be cancelled and abruptly ended the call.

Got a ring from some call blocking company claiming I signed up with them last year - which is totally untrue. They started asking me for money, and as soon as I mentioned I’m already on the TPS list, they just cut me off. Pretty sure it was just a scam!

Received a rather dubious call this morning from the number 02079521499, claiming I had arranged some sort of service with them a year back and that it was now time to cough up £98.99 for it to commence within a mere 72 hours. It's absolute nonsense, plain and simple. When I pointed out that it felt like a nuisance call, the chap on the other end promptly terminated the call. I attempted to ring back, but surprise, surprise-no answer! The caller had a rather posh English accent, which just added to the audacity of the whole situation.

Apparently that firm doesn't operate anymore - it was officially closed down back in April 2016. If you look up 'call prevention service' on Companies House, you'll see all the info. Definitely feels like a total scam to me.

just like a few here, i got a guy calling telling me ive got an account with them, he got proper annoyed when i said he sounded dodgy. then he started saying id paid near £97 a couple months ago and even rattled off my actual bank card digits! honestly, that freaked me out - how do they even get that info? i double-checked and nothing showed up, but i still reported to tps again. if more folks do that, hopefully it pushes these scammers right up the priorities.

I received a call from this number earlier today. An articulate gentleman on the line introduced himself as being from the Call Prevention Service. Peculiarly, he claimed I had signed up for their service back in August 2015. However, I haven't enrolled in anything of the sort, which immediately raised my suspicions about it being a scam. He mentioned that November (if I recall correctly, he said the 8th) would mark the beginning of my second year with them. Quite amusing really, as if I had indeed registered in August 2015, I should have been with them for well over 14 or 15 months by now! The moment he stated that I would need to fork out £7.99 to renew my so-called second year, I swiftly ended the call. It's a rather low amount compared to what I’ve seen others mention here, but nothing could entice me.

I recently received a call from this number and was greeted by a rather eloquent gentleman claiming to represent the Call Prevention Service. He went on to assert that I had signed up for their service back in August 2015. To be honest, I haven't enrolled in anything like that, so it was clear to me that it was nothing more than a con job. He mentioned something about my second year beginning in November-if memory serves, he said the 8th. Quite amusing, really, as if I did join in August 2015, my subscription would have been active for a solid 14 or 15 months by now! The moment he started talking about a £7.99 fee for this so-called second year service-though it’s apparently a steal compared to others' experiences on here-I swiftly ended the call.

Blimey! I accidentally listed the incorrect name of the firm in my post, and now I'm at a complete loss for how to amend or remove it! The proper name is the Call Prevention Service, mind you.

Just to add to my previous note, I found out that CALL PREVENTION SERVICES LIMITED, with company number 09194454, had its registered office at Flat 3, 14 Nelson Rd, Bognor Regis, England, PO21 2RY. Interestingly, the company was dissolved on 12 April 2016. This really tells you everything you need to know-it’s definitely a scam!

These lot have been ringing non stop this week! At first they just wanted to chat with my husband, but today they asked for me. They claim I signed up for some contract last year and now I owe £97 to stop the calls. I told the woman straight up I never agreed to any such thing and I’m certainly not paying for some service when I’m bombarded with calls all day. She just said “we’ll take you off the list!” What a load of rubbish. I’m on the TPS and still they keep ringing! Such scammers.

In the past 48 hours, I've been bothered by four calls from this number. A rather articulate woman claimed that I had registered with them last year-definitely not the case! When I mentioned that my phone provider offers this service at no cost, she retorted that nothing comes without a price, madam! Despite my attempts to dispute her claims, she informed me she would remove my number from their database. We’ll see about that, won’t we? I attempted to return the call, but it simply rings without any response, as expected!

I received a call earlier today from someone claiming that either myself or my husband had signed up for a service a year back, and that we were now obligated to cough up £95 or initiate a direct debit. When I asked him to call again when my husband was around, he flat out refused, saying he had all the information he needed from back then! In the end, the conversation ended abruptly, and I've since decided to cancel my bank cards. What a right palaver!

They refer to themselves as Call Prevention Services, but don't be fooled! They are pulling a fast one and engaging in fear tactics, claiming they’ll siphon off £95 from your bank account in the next 72 hours, saying you signed up a year back. Total rubbish!

Earlier today, at precisely 1 PM, I received a rather suspicious call from this number. The caller claimed that I had signed up for a service last September, which apparently involved me receiving numerous calls from China and India. They insisted my complimentary year had expired and that I was now liable for a £96 lifetime membership fee. To be honest, I couldn't recall ever agreeing to such a thing. When I challenged her, she insisted I'd done so and requested my bank details. She even mentioned the first four digits of my card and asked me which bank I used. In a moment of confusion, I inadvertently shared that information with her. As soon as she pressed for my complete bank details, I realised the gravity of the situation and immediately terminated the call.

I’ve had a couple of phone calls from this firm recently. Mirroring the other accounts I’ve heard, the caller claimed that I had reached out to them back in November, and now they wanted me to fork out £98.99 for a lifetime membership. I explained that I wasn’t in a position to pay that amount right now and needed to consult with my husband first. She mentioned she’d ring me back, which she promptly did, inquiring if I was ready to proceed. I told her I couldn't remember enrolling in anything last year and firmly declined the offer. To my dismay, she responded by warning me that I could expect an influx of nuisance calls once more.

Today I received a call that was eerily similar to those shared by others. Apparently, I had supposedly entered into some sort of verbal contract about a year back (which I absolutely did not). Now they were claiming that payment was required for a lifetime membership. When I refused to provide my bank details, she boldly asserted that she already had them. I told her there’s no way I’d have given that information over the phone. She read off a card number starting with 6759, to which I responded, "That’s not from any card of mine, so you can carry on with your day, love."

I implore you, do not engage with any callers from this number! They are professional scammers and rather devious at that! Should you challenge them on their malicious intentions, they may resort to abusive language. They possess your name and address (last name included), but don’t fall into the trap of believing that a family member has unwittingly signed you up for something-such personal details are easily obtained, just as effortless as acquiring your phone number. Moreover, they can easily snatch a few digits of your bank information, such as the initial four numbers and sort code, so remain vigilant! Simply hang up, it's the wisest course of action.

If I don’t answer with a hello, they just drop the call straight away. Sometimes they talk about Nuance calls, and when I say yes, they act like they know me or something. If they’d just stop ringing, I wouldn’t have a problem. They put on pressure, but I just end the call. Now they’re all lumped in my spam, so I just don’t even bother.

Some posh sounding lady rang up and kept asking for my husband. When I asked who was on the line, she claimed to be from a call prevention company. I tried to find out where exactly they operated from, tried London, and when I asked for the company's exact location she just hung up. Bit pointless trying to report it to the TPS anyway, since they want full details like an address, phone number or website before they’ll bother doing anything.

I received a call from this number claiming that I had registered for a call-blocking service back in May 2015 for a fee of £49.95, or alternatively five instalments of £7.95. When I probed a bit further, the chap on the other end became rather agitated and informed me that their head office would be in touch to clarify how the direct debit operates and that they would be collecting the full amount. I requested that they resend the documentation as I couldn't locate any information about the company online. Quite the dodgy affair, if you ask me!

Received a rather curious phone call earlier today, seeking my wife who supposedly took out a policy last year. The caller, claiming to be Sean Evans from some call prevention outfit, was after a payment of £100 to keep their services running. I found it odd that no bank details were provided. When I queried this, the chap became quite irate. Quite the suspicious encounter, if you ask me!

Had a rather odd phone call at 11:50am today from a woman purporting to represent a call barring service I supposedly registered with last year (which I definitely didn’t). She rattled off my name and address, which was a bit too familiar for comfort. Her pitch was that they could now prevent those pesky nuisance calls I’ve been getting from India, Pakistan, and China (China? Really?). She insisted that I needed to cough up a one-off fee for a lifetime membership or arrange a direct debit for an annual subscription. When I firmly told her I wasn’t about to hand over my banking details over the phone (not falling for that nonsense), her tone took a turn for the worse, and she said she’d have to escalate the matter to her manager. So, I simply hung up on her.

Seems like one of those scams tryin to get you to cough up for something you never even asked for. They claim you agreed ages ago to a direct debit, letting them take money out of your bank for dodgy calls and spam. Honestly, best to just ignore and not give them a penny.

Once more, I’ve received a bothersome call. This time, they’re trying to extract money from me, claiming it will put an end to all these pesky calls. I recently got a phone call from this number inquiring about unwanted calls and claiming that a subscription I took out last year to stop them was incurring an additional fee. They wanted my bank details, which set off all my warning signals, so I politely declined. They insisted the offer was only valid for a limited time and asked me to respond quickly. I told them to send me the information in writing so that I could consider it. I’m pretty sure I won’t hear another thing from them - it reeks of a scam. Please be cautious and never share your banking information without verifying who's on the other end. Is there a way to report this number so others don’t fall victim to their tricks?

I recently received a rather dubious call from a chap purporting to represent a government department aimed at curtailing nuisance calls. To my surprise, he had my name and address on hand and asserted that I had signed up for a policy back in June 2015 to block these bothersome calls. He went on to say that since this policy had lapsed, I’d now need to fork out some cash to prevent further disturbances and to eliminate both international and domestic calls to my line. Honestly, I informed him that I had no recollection of ever initiating such a policy, and firmly stated he wouldn’t be getting a penny from me given that I’m inundated with six or seven annoying calls daily. To my astonishment, he simply claimed he’d pass my details along to the head office and promptly ended the call!

I’ve just had a call from this number, claiming to be from the government regarding nuisance calls. The chap on the line sounded quite English and mentioned that they’re putting a stop to calls originating outside the UK. He then went on to say that I might incur charges for this service. I must say, it piqued my curiosity, but perhaps I’ve become a bit too cautious over the years, what with the plethora of scams out there. I was relieved that they didn’t request my bank details, which is something I’ve never disclosed in the first place. It’s a bit of a minefield navigating these calls these days!
