Seems like I’ve received a call from someone impersonating PayPal, requesting the last four digits of my bank account. Quite bizarre, really, as they didn't leave any information or reasoning—just a number to ring back. When I took the plunge and called, I was met with a voicemail that again sought the last four digits. It’s blatantly a phishing scam, if you ask me!

LEGITIMATE CALL: I had a few missed payments to PayPal because my direct debit card had recently run out. You don’t necessarily have to get in touch with them; a quick look at your account will reveal the reason for their call.

Received a rather dubious call today from an unfamiliar number: 020334671768. An Irish lady left a voice message claiming to be from PayPal, instructing me to return the call to another number: 02079493186. I’ve taken the precaution of blocking these numbers and reporting them on this site, but I won't be ringing back. If PayPal really needs to reach me, they'll send a letter or an email instead of relying solely on phone calls. I’d strongly advise others to steer clear of contacting them as well. I'm also quite convinced that PayPal employs various representatives from Ireland...

Received a voicemail from an Irish lady who left her number for a return call. After browsing through reviews mentioning PayPal, I decided to ring the number back out of curiosity to see how they responded. Although I do possess a PayPal account, I haven’t set up any ‘pay in instalments’ arrangements, which is precisely why I took the time to verify. A few weeks back, I blocked their number, yet they persist in ringing, with daily calls still landing on my voicemail and leaving only snippets of messages. It’s quite vexing, to say the least!
