Got a call about some supposed ‘merger’ between EE and BT and that they’d be locking my SIM card. Sounded a bit dodgy to me!

I answered after they called a few times but there was just silence, then they ended the call. They buzzed me again while I was looking up the number on here, ringing for about 3 or 4 rings. After that I just blocked them.

I got a call from 0207 948 9814 and the person on the line had an accent that didn’t sound local. She claimed to be calling on behalf of EE. Felt a bit fishy to me!

Just got a call from someone claiming to be EE, saying my SIM card would be blocked soon. Total scam, obviously! I called them out on it being a con and they hung up straight away. Watch out, don’t fall for it!

Got a call from this number saying EE and BT were joining forces and that my SIM would be blocked, but they'd send me a new one. They also said I'd get an email with a code to reset my password. I said I needed to double-check as it sounded dodgy, but they kept insisting it was legit. Then I got an email from EE warning me to be cautious and to ring them if I wasn’t sure. Tried calling EE for reassurance but couldn't get through to anyone. In the end, I blocked the number - it’s definitely a scam.

Got a call from someone claiming to be EE about a new SIM card cause of a merge with BT. They said they’d sent it and asked for my passcodes. I asked why I hadn’t got an email and said I’d ring EE myself to check. They then said EE would never admit it coz it’s some sort of promotion and they don’t have all the info. I reported it straight away to EE. Never hand out any security codes over the phone, even if it sounds genuine or like you’ve been sent something.

Total rip-off for sure. I got a call from someone saying they were from EE (I ain’t even a customer there) telling me my SIM card needed replacing. They wanted my email to send a link (I just made up a rubbish one) and when I told them I couldn’t check my emails, they started asking for bank details, my address and date of birth. I fed them a bunch of made-up info, including my name. They kept ringing after that too. It’s clearly a scam and they couldn’t care less. I acted like I was struggling heaps but they showed zero sympathy.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with EE, saying I could get a 30% discount on my bill. They asked for my email to check my account info. Luckily, I looked up the number online first to see if it was legit and decided to just hang up. Really glad sites like this exist to help spot scams!

I got a call from someone speaking with an Indian accent claiming to be from EE Networks. He said they were collaborating with BT to swap out SIM cards because of bad signal issues. I informed him they’d actually rung me a few weeks back about the same thing, but I told them I wasn’t interested and that I’m not even an EE customer. He then admitted he might've dialled the wrong number and quickly ended the call.

I got a call from someone claiming to be from EE saying I’d been picked for a 30% discount on my phone bill. Then they started asking for my personal info!! They said they needed it before sending any paperwork, which later turned into an email instead! When I questioned him, he stayed surprisingly calm. I told him that if he really was from EE, they should already have my details. His reply was that he needed to confirm it was me. I said that should be EE's job if he was genuine. What a complete waste of time, total scammer, and just plain rude!

Well, after checking with EE, it's clear this is just a dodgy scam operation. They ring you up pretending to offer an EE upgrade, then sneakily enter your email on EE’s site which automatically sends you a legitimate-looking EE email with a code. This tricks you into thinking it’s genuinely from EE, so they ask for the code. Next thing you know, your EE account is frozen while they try to blag your bank info. All these calls seem to come from a call centre in London that only started up around the end of January. Avoid it!

This one felt like a total scam. They said they were from EE but never checked if I was the right person. They wanted me to confirm my address so they could send out a new SIM. When I asked what address they had on file (which EE should obviously know), they got really dodgy. I didn’t give them any details and then they just ended the call.
