9 yearsGot two calls today from someone with an Indian accent claiming to be from BT regarding my internet. When I asked who they were trying to contact and what the call was about, they couldn’t give a straight answer. Seemed dodgy to me, so I ended the call, figured it was just a scam.BT9 yearsGot a call from a bloke with an Indian accent who claimed he was Robin from BT, said there was some sort of security issue with my PC. He asked me to hit the windows key plus R to open something called "Note Pad," then type in CMD and click OK. I told him the number flagged up as a scam, and I was going to report it. He sounded a bit irritated and insisted BT wouldn’t let them use mobiles! I just told him cheers and hung up.RobinBTCMD9 yearsI got a call from someone with an Indian accent saying they were from BT, but they never properly said who they were and couldn’t give any real info to back it up. They called me three times right after each other, super pushy. I didn’t give them any of my details. They suddenly stopped when I told them I had my own IT guy with me and asked why they hadn’t talked to him instead. I looked up this number and I’m reporting it as a scam so others can stay safe. They’re definitely trying to get access to your computer by making you log into their system. Watch out!BT9 yearsJust got a call from some so-called scanners claiming my internet was hacked and kept spitting out error messages. They wanted me to log into some website, which I refused to do. At no point did they check any security details, and I told them it sounded like a phishing attempt. They kept repeating the error but couldn’t really explain how to fix it. I said I’d ring BT myself and asked for full details. Then they tried asking if I was Mrs Jones - rubbish! I told them if BT can send my bill with my name on it, how come they don’t know who I am? You can spot a scam from how unprofessional they are! They said stuff like “I’m the technical person and you’re the normal person” which no genuine call centre would say, no matter the country. Plus, they had the nerve to ring me at 8:30 on a Saturday morning - not impressed at all!BTJones9 yearsGot a call from someone claiming to be from India warning me about some online scam messing with the whole country’s internet safety. Pretty sure it was just a joke. When I called him out on it, he lost his cool and started dropping all sorts of rude words.
