Phone number ☎️ 02079461291 👆 is reported as a nuisance scam number originating from London, frequently associated with persistent calls about supposed accident claims. While numerous warnings circulate online claiming that answering or returning the call incurs exorbitant charges, UK telecom regulations ensure that incoming calls are free for domestic users. Callers may use aggressive or deceptive tactics, sometimes sharing personal details to intimidate recipients. It is advisable not to answer or return calls from this number, especially if unknown, and to block it where possible. Users are encouraged to report suspicious activity to regulatory authorities to help combat such scams effectively.

Even though this number appears to be from London, I’d advise against returning the call as it incurs charges.

This number’s definitely dodgy, if you pick up they’ll hit you with a £34 fee straight away, and then keep charging another £34 for every minute you’re on the call.

Scam calls are definitely a pain, I looked up this number just in case. If you’re not sure who’s calling, it’s better not to answer. Calls from UK numbers don’t cost anything to receive. Never say "yes" or agree to be passed on when you get a call like this. Always ask who it is and jot down any details they give you.

AVOID picking up this number! We usually let unknown numbers go to voicemail, but a mate warned me about this one and the crazy fee (apparently £346) if you actually take the call. The digits after the 0207 haven’t been handed out by Ofcom, so it’s definitely a RIP-OFF. Why isn’t Ofcom cracking down on this?

I’ve seen this number popping up loads on ‘facebook’ over the past few weeks, with warnings not to pick up cos you’ll get charged like £300 or something. The sad truth is, too many folks just believe ‘EVERYTHING’ they find on facebook without a second thought. No surprise lots end up getting scammed. It’s really unfortunate, but I guess sites like this might help folks be a bit more careful and stop falling for these daft tricks when they get random calls.

Sounds like one of those accident claim lines to me, I didn’t recognise the number so just let it ring. But for anyone worried about being hit with a £300+ bill for picking up, that’s just not how UK mobiles work. Incoming calls don’t cost anything here, unless you’re out of the country and getting charged for roaming. Best to just ignore the call anyway, or you’ll probably end up stuck listening to some automated message. And definitely don’t bother calling back.

Its a load of rubbish or just childish scare tactics saying you’ll be charged £346 just for picking up the phone, that’s not how it works.! But seriously, why would anyone be daft enough to call back a number, especially if they havent left a message that concerns you! It dosent make sense but obviously some folks here do call back numbers with no message left. That’s when you might end up with a big phone bill. So please, think twice before calling back any unknown numbers!

I’m retired and honestly getting a bit nervous every time the phone rings. Something really needs to be done about these awful calls, they should definitely be reported to Ofcom.

I’ve spotted a caution on Facebook regarding this number, advising folks against picking up. However, if your landline doesn’t display any caller ID, it’s often a gamble as to who’s on the other end unless you actually lift the receiver. It would be great if action could be taken regarding these pesky 0207946 callers.

1. NEVER pick up calls from unknown numbers. 2. Don't agree to pay any bill if you're unsure, it just means you're falling for a scam. The phone provider should be the ones blocking these scammers. 3. If it comes to it, take it to court so they have to investigate properly. Just don't respond or pay, simple as that.

About five months back, I picked up a call from this number. When I told the caller that if I’d been in an accident I’d be aware of it, and then told him to stop messing about, he threatened to come round and smash my windows with bricks. They definitely have all your info - like your address, date of birth, and even your car’s registration. It’s really unsettling. Best not to pick up and make sure to report them to OFCOM.

I picked up this call and somehow ended up crouching in my back garden munching on dirt. Saw these little fairies prancing around the flower patches, all clad in green stretchy outfits, waving rectangular wands about. I laughed so much I nearly wet myself, then, butt naked, I tumbled through a pile of cat poop. After that, I had a quick chat with myself before heading back inside to press my purple coat hangers.

Got a ring from this number earlier, I didn't pick up though. Lately I’ve been getting these calls asking if I was in some sort of accident that wasn’t my fault, usually from 020 numbers, so I figured it was along the same lines. You shouldn’t have to pay for incoming calls unless you’re outside the country on your mobile. The only way you’d get charged by this number in the UK is if you ring back - don’t do it, just block and move on.
