I signed up with the TPS about three months back, so anyone ringing me is basically ignoring the law, bloody scammers! It’s just disgusting. Honestly, phone companies ought to bar these annoying callers, it’s ridiculous they get away with it. I don’t pick up, but I’m now saving dodgy numbers like these in my phone under names like "Avoid Scammers" or something similar. Even if they aren’t scammers, they’re still shady little sods. Got a call from this number on one of my 3 'data only' sims that I transferred to my phone once the data ran out so I could keep the number active. That sim card never made calls, wasn’t given to anybody, and I’ve never shared the number online anywhere. The only explanation is they have access to a database with every single issued number from the network providers. Are these companies selling our details to telemarketers? They’ve called me about five times already. The automated voice asked if I’d been in an accident, and I said yes. Then I got put through to some bloke. I told him I’m on the TPS list and he shouldn’t be calling me - it’s illegal. He insisted he wasn’t trying to sell me anything. I wasn’t convinced, said “yeah right, you are”.
