Got a message from Samsung and Curve about activating a card I never ordered. Pretty weird, not sure if it’s some kind of scam or a mix-up. Has anyone else got similar notifications?

The phone number for Starling Bank is 0207 930 4450. I got a call from 0207 939 4450, which is just one digit off - a 9 instead of a 0. They said the 9 was an extension, but extensions are just internal stuff, not part of the main number. It's best to save your bank’s real number in your contacts to know when it’s them calling. Banks don’t usually ring you first. So, if you get a call from someone claiming to be your bank, hang up and ring your bank yourself to check and report anything suspicious.

I noticed a dodgy charge on my Starling account and quickly rejected it. Not long after, this number kept ringing me. I ignored the first couple of calls, but they kept at it. They sounded pretty legit, even knew stuff from my account and sent a message through Starling. Something felt off though, so I locked my card straight away and called Starling. They told me it wasn’t them calling and that the call was a scam. Just a heads up, hang up and get in touch with Starling right away if this happens to you!

someone rang me up and already had my address, asked if there’s been any dodgy charges on my account. then they went on about whether I’ve got any cryptos or NFTs, which was kinda weird. they even brought up my revolut account, saying revolut and starling bank are somehow “connected families” or something. honestly, what a joke. honestly, imagine going through all that just to grow up and rip people off through calls like this. pathetic.

My partner answered a call claiming to be from “Starling” bank. They sounded totally legit and ended up draining all his funds. The weirdest bit? The number actually matched the one on Starling’s official site. It looks like the scammers must’ve somehow hacked or spoofed the number. When the money disappeared, the account was labelled something like “cryptocurrency...” so watch out!!

My boyfriend got a call from this number, with someone saying his name was Christopher Wells from Starling Bank’s fraud team. The guy sounded really polite and even shared some personal info to seem legit. Then he put my boyfriend through to his “manager,” who talked him through some extra security checks to build trust. After that, they asked for all kinds of details, including card info and eventually the Starling payment code. Right after, they emptied his entire account, shifting the money into some crypto wallet. Seriously, who does this kind of dirty scam? It’s disgusting, like these people have no soul. They’re just parasites and it’s only a matter of time before karma hits them hard. Wish I could be there to laugh at them when it does.
