I got a voicemail saying I’m somehow caught up in tax fraud, and they told me to press 1 to speak to an agent. I was curious so I tried to see how the scam worked, but it took forever to get through to anyone and then the call just dropped. Pretty obvious scam if you ask me.

Got a call from a private number with a recorded message claiming to be from the tax office. It said there was a tax fraud case against me and warned that if I didn’t press 1, I’d be arrested soon. Once I ended the call, this phone number showed up. I’ve already reported it to Action Fraud at https://www.actionfraud.police.uk/. Whatever you do, don’t press 1 - it’s definitely a scam.
