I received a rather threatening automated phone call claiming to be from HMRC. Ignoring it could have serious consequences, I reckon! They suggested I urgently get in touch with my solicitor if I didn’t ring back right away. It really put me on edge!

Got a call from someone claiming to be from HMRC customs, sounded like a proper threat. Also told me not to ring my lawyer. It was an American lady on the line, trying a hotline number. They’d rang me twice already. If you spot this number, I'd just block it straight away.

I just got a robotic call from a woman with a weird transatlantic accent saying she’s from HMRC. She told me to ring back straight away with my lawyer’s info or else I might end up in prison. Felt really suspicious to me.

I got a recorded phone call claiming I needed to get in touch with them urgently or they’d take legal action against me or my lawyer. Totally a dodgy scam. Legit HMRC letters always have your tax reference number in them, which this one didn’t. So obviously a trick to scare people.

I got a call that went straight to voicemail. There was an automated message with an American accent saying I needed to ring back or get my solicitor to call this number right away or I'd face jail time or legal troubles. Totally bogus! Blocked the number immediately. HMRC would never have some American on the line, and also, they wouldn’t call from a number like that - they send letters if you owe tax, not scary calls like this lol.

Got a voicemail that claimed to be from HMRC telling me to listen right away. I didn’t trust it, so I just ended the call and blocked the number straight away.
