Got a voicemail after a missed call from this number. The message was one of those auto-dialler warnings claiming to be from HMRC, saying I had to call back or face some kind of trouble. Definitely smells like a scam. Best to just block and tell HMRC about it.

This morning I got a call from 02078983529 and it was a recorded message pretending to be from HMRC saying I needed to ring them straight away. I just ended the call right away. scam alert - got a voicemail saying it’s officer dennis gray from hmrc. the number to call back is 02078983529. message said not to ignore it and to get in touch asap. if i or my solicitor don't call back, they said legal trouble is coming my way. weird stuff, be cautious.

Beware of the number 020 7989 3529 - it’s a total scam. They claim to be from HMRC and say you’ve been involved in tax fraud. I actually checked with HMRC myself, and they confirmed it’s bogus. Here’s what happened: I got a robo-call at 9:24 in the morning on Wednesday 11th November 2020, telling me to ring back on the same number. When I did, someone pretending to be from HMRC accused me of tax evasion. I reported this to HMRC, and they’ve sent the details on to their cyber crime team. Stay careful!
