02078962583 Summary (Read all comments)
Phone number ☎️ 02078962583 👆 is reported as a persistent nuisance call frequently impersonating TalkTalk, warning of internet or broadband issues. Callers often possess personal details like names and addresses, likely stemming from previous data breaches, but their claims are fraudulent. They attempt to trick recipients into downloading remote access software or providing sensitive information, which poses significant security risks. The callers may employ high-pressure tactics, exhibit rude behaviour when challenged, and sometimes use foreign accents. Genuine TalkTalk representatives advise against engaging or sharing information, as legitimate companies do not request remote control access unsolicited. Vulnerable individuals should remain cautious, and any suspicious calls should be reported to authorities to prevent scams and potential financial harm.

10 yearsGot a call from this number claiming our internet was crawling slow (which is true). The bloke started yammering on about checking the router, but I let him finish then just cut him off. Bit rude, but honestly, best way to stop them. Then, to my surprise, he called right back! My little grandson picked up, and the scammer had the nerve to ask why I'd ended the call. Seriously cheeky! So, I hung up again. What’s creepy is he even knew my name.Blimey10 yearsToday I received a rather dubious call from this number. The chap on the other end claimed to be representing my mobile provider and started rambling about "issues with their servers" before urging me to install some sort of remote access software on my computer. Right, like I’d fall for that! I promptly ended the call and reached out directly to my provider, where the customer service rep assured me categorically that they NEVER instruct customers to take such actions. “Absolutely a scam,” he said. Quite honestly, the caller didn’t even bother to introduce himself - how shoddy is that? I really urge folks to steer clear of such scams; I was close to being sucked in! Allowing a stranger, who cold-calls you out of the blue, access to your computer is just asking for trouble, regardless of how convincing they might sound or the technical mumbo jumbo they throw about. "Better safe than sorry," as the old saying goes!10 yearsGot a call earlier today from this number claiming to be from TalkTalk. When I asked "oh really, why’s that?" the caller just cut me off straight away. Reported it to Action Fraud because I actually left TalkTalk back in September 2015 due to constant annoying calls like this. It's ridiculous that they still use overseas call centres. Surely enough people need to call them out before they stop pretending to care and just keep milking their customers.TalkTalkAction Fraud10 yearsI used to be with TalkTalk, and now my phone keeps buzzing non-stop!TalkTalk11 yearsBeen getting loads of annoying calls lately, always ending with them hanging up straight away. Looks like it might be connected to all those calls pretending to be from TalkTalk. Very frustrating!TalkTalk11 yearsGot a call once from some bloke saying TalkTalk were about to disconnect me 'cause they spotted some “dangerous packets” on my line. He wanted me to switch on my Windows error log, which seemed dodgy - I’ve heard this trick before, where they get you to turn on that so you see a load of normal Windows warnings and panic. I just told him, nah, not doing that, already had one of their muppets try the same stunt on me. Unsurprisingly, as soon as I said that, he hung up.TalkTalk11 yearsReceived a rather dubious call claiming to be from TalkTalk, the chap insisted he'd detected some 'issues' with my internet connection. Curiously, he had my name to hand, and when I inquired about how he knew to address me as ******, he swiftly sidestepped the question. In the end, he hung up, seemingly flustered by my persistence in questioning his use of my name. This incident seems to highlight that when TalkTalk’s systems were compromised, it’s evident they likely snatched more than just a few details-names and contact information appear to be part of the haul at the very least. Mind you, I haven't been a TalkTalk subscriber for a couple of years now, which raises concerns about their practice of retaining customer information, even after one has parted ways with them. Interestingly, I had a similar experience not too long ago with another phoney TalkTalk caller, who also knew my address. It’s all rather unsettling, to say the least!TalkTalk11 yearsAn individual masquerading as a representative from TalkTalk reached out to me, claiming he had detected some 'bugs' affecting my internet connection. To my surprise, he actually addressed me by name. When I probed him on how he knew it, he deftly dodged my questions. Eventually, he chose to disconnect the call after I pressed him repeatedly about his use of my name. It certainly seems to indicate that during that notorious TalkTalk data breach, names and phone numbers were indeed compromised. It’s rather alarming, given that it’s been about two years since I ceased being their customer, yet it appears they cling to past clients' information instead of properly purging their records. The previous scam call I received, roughly five months back, was from someone who not only had my name but also my address. He too was attempting to deceive me into downloading software to 'fix the bugs' he claimed were on my system. What a numpty! - Caller: ScammerTalkTalkCallerScammer11 yearsGot a call from someone claiming to be with TalkTalk, telling me to switch on my computer to sort out my slow internet. When I didn’t follow his instructions, he started calling me a liar. I decided to tell him I’m actually a police officer, which only led to him shouting more insults. When I laughed, he got even more aggressive. This kind of behaviour is really worrying, especially for people who are more vulnerable.TalkTalk11 yearsJust like all the others, an Indian bloke said, 'I'm calling from TalkTalk, your internet is running slow.' I told him straight up he was trying to scam me and to send an email if he really wanted to help. As you’d expect, the genuine TalkTalk have my email but no message from him so far.
