Totally with what others are saying here. This is obviously a dodgy call centre pretending to be from O2. When i switched from Virgin to O2, I reckon part of that switch included agreeing for my data to be shared with those scammy call centres in India because once I was with O2, the calls started nonstop. Really not happy with how O2 is handling my privacy or security at all.

Got a call from an Indian woman saying she was from O2/Virgin media, telling me my sim would be blocked in a week and they needed to send a replacement. No security checks at all, and then she transferred me to some other “department”. Total scam, watch out! Caller hung up once I said I wasn’t with O2.

Someone called saying they were from Three, offering me a super cheap contract.. but I’m already on a deal with Three. They didn’t know this and kept passing me between Indian callers trying to get me to switch. They refused to accept no for an answer. Then another Indian caller came and tried to scam me. I told them they were pretending to be Three and that the police in London have been informed, plus Three has been told. That’s when they hung up. Don’t give these people any personal or bank info, they’re fakes and could empty your account.

They claim to be 02. Over the past few weeks, I've been getting calls from similar numbers trying to sell billing discounts of 30% - 40%. When I ask them to prove they aren't spam and to confirm the name on the 02 account, the call usually just drops or they say they're from the promo team and don’t have that info, then ask for my email and address. Absolutely no thanks! Bottom line: don’t engage, THEY ARE NOT 02.

A SUSPICIOUS CALL I recently received a rather unsettling phone call from a woman purporting to be associated with O2's Promotions team, claiming she could reduce my bill by at least 20%. It was clearly a spoof call. She insisted I verify my email address to access these so-called offers. I pointed out to her that if she were truly legitimate, she would already have my details and it was her responsibility to authenticate herself and specify from where she was calling. Following our exchange, I informed her that her call constituted an illegal and unsolicited approach before I promptly disconnected. To my dismay, when I rang the number back, it turned out to be completely unregistered.
