Received a ring from this number earlier today. A bloke with an Asian accent introduced himself as Ben, claiming to be from Windows Security. Just a heads up, neither Windows nor Microsoft ever makes unsolicited calls; you always need to reach out to them first. I'm aware of this because I've recently contacted both companies.

A woman with an Asian accent, who said her name was Marie, called me saying there were issues with my Windows computer. I told her I wasn’t interested and ended the call. She kept ringing back, so I just kept putting the phone down, but it didn’t stop until I told her it was becoming harassment and I’d involve the police if she rang again.

This person said they were from Microsoft or Windows or something, and when I told them I wasn’t convinced, they just kept going on and on. After I hung up, they called me back like six times! I just decided to not answer anymore. Really annoying and uncomfortable situation.

Got a call from a man with an Indian accent who somehow knew my name. He claimed there was an issue with the computer linked to me and said he was a legit Windows support technician. Offered to remotely fix the problem, though my PC’s perfectly fine - wish he was that lucky! I ended the call, but he phoned back. Told him if he ringed again, I’d report him to Action Fraud. So far, he’s kept quiet.

I got a call like this once from another number, some bloke claiming to be from Citizens Advice about a £4500 cheque I was meant to get earlier this month. I told him straight up it was a scam and if he rang back I'd report him and every number he used to the cops. He ended the call after that.

I got a call from 02078709669, a guy who said his name was Roy. He was saying the usual about the FCA and said I’m owed £2500, this time claiming my solicitor was Mrs Barbara Parker. It’s a complete con, no way I’ve got that many direct debits to add up to that amount in fees. These scammers are honestly the worst, just a total nightmare to deal with.

Yesterday, I got a call from some bloke named Kelvin Bell who claimed he was with the FCA and said he was sending me a cheque for £3000. He gave me a reference number and his own phone number too, and mentioned that someone would deliver the cheque in person. I was pretty doubtful by then and asked a few questions, which seemed to annoy him, so I ended up hanging up. I usually don’t pick up unknown numbers, but since I was expecting a call from my sister, I answered - bad move!

Got a call from someone who barely spoke English and said they were from Global Services, trying to sell life insurance.
