Like the person above me, I’m an older lady living by myself. The guy was really persistent, so I just ended the call.

So this bloke stayed silent for a bit, probably to make sure a woman picked up the phone. Once he was certain, he started saying he was from housing repairs and tried to squeeze personal details out of me. I'm registered with the TPS, but somehow this weirdo still got through. I’ve blocked him now, but I reckon they’re running several numbers to do this. They begin by pretending they’ve been sent from your council or housing group, and if you’re not a tenant, they move on to gather info that would let them turn up at your place.
