Is there anyone out there who can shed light on who might be behind this phone number?

That whole bit about the other university sounds like rubbish to me. I'm only 16, so why would they be ringing me up? To me, the telemarketer explanation makes way more sense.

Got a dodgy call asking for my details without asking first, total scam if you ask me.

I never picked up, but after reading all this, I’m just thinking - I didn’t even go to uni so why would some graduate programme be ringing me? Makes no sense.

I received a phone call from my university, facilitated by The Careers Group. This particular call pertains to a mandatory government survey that all universities are obligated to distribute to their graduates. The purpose of this survey is to gather insights into your experiences as a student and to ascertain your post-graduation path-be it further studies, employment, self-employment, or other pursuits. The data collected is invaluable for guiding future students in their course selections. Rest assured, we aren’t asking for any financial contributions, merely a handful of moments of your time! Given that this survey is a legal obligation for universities, we must conduct it via phone or through the online form you might have received. If you prefer not to participate, that’s absolutely fine; simply inform us during the call or reach out via the email we provided. I trust this clarifies the matter!

this call is from your uni, done by the careers team. it’s about a gov survey all unis have to do for their graduates. the survey looks at your time as a student and what you’re doing now - like further studying, working, or self-employment. it’s to help future students decide on their courses. we DO NOT ask for any cash, just a few minutes of your time! since it’s a legal thing for unis, we have to carry out the survey either by phone or online. you can say no if you want, just tell us on the call or email us (you should’ve got an email from us). hope that clears things up!

All universities are obliged to conduct a mandatory government survey for their graduates. This survey aims to gain insight into their student experiences and determine their plans for further education, employment, or self-employment. The gathered information could greatly assist future students in making informed decisions about their choice of course. Participation in this survey is entirely voluntary and can be done either via telephone or an online form. In the event that you prefer not to take part, you have the option to inform us over the phone or through email using the provided address. We truly appreciate your time and participation, as it will contribute immensely to the betterment of student experiences in the future.

I received a call that I missed initially, but when I picked up on the next attempt, it turned out to be my university reaching out to check in on my post-graduation journey. Interestingly, they were utilising a service from the University of London, despite me being an alumnus of Manchester. The conversation was straightforward and wrapped up rather swiftly in the end.

I had a missed call initially, but the second call was from my university inquiring about my post-graduate activities. Surprisingly, they utilized a service offered by the University of London, despite the fact that I attended Manchester University. Fortunately, this was an effortless and speedy conversation.

Got calls from some graduation service place asking about my plans after uni. I never agreed to share my details with them, but they’ve rung me like 7 times this week and nearly 100 times over the last couple of months. It’s proper harassment!

Today, I received a call from a number claiming to be a university survey company. They asked me some simple questions about how my course helped me find employment. However, I became suspicious when they knew where I work and inquired about my salary. So, I asked if the information would be made public. They responded by saying they publish articles for individuals who are undecided about their university choices, using past students' experiences to provide guidance. This has left me feeling quite skeptical. Although they can't really do much with just my work details, I now regret answering the call.

I'm being bothered by a government-funded polling company that calls my phone every day, sometimes even twice, in search of my son to participate in a survey. It's becoming increasingly irritating. Their contact number is 02078636012.

I am being contacted by these individuals on a daily basis, and it is very frustrating. They don't seem to take breaks on weekends or evenings either. Is there anyone who can advise me on how I can put an end to this? It's clear that they are determined and unwilling to give up.

I often receive calls from the "graduates agency" during working hours, preventing me from answering. I have attempted to return the call, but only encountered an automated message apologizing for missing my call and promising to contact me again soon. Unfortunately, they do not provide a voicemail service for leaving messages. I'm eager to put an end to these calls from the "graduates agency," as they don't appear to be a legitimate organization.

The individual who contacted me stated that they were conducting a "survey" on behalf of my university as an alumni. Surprisingly, they possessed information about the specific university I attended and the course I pursued. However, I chose not to provide them with any further details.

total rip off. this number called me like 4 times but left no voicemail, so i called back. I got some robotic voice saying "welcome to graduation scheme," sounded asian. then it gave options but everytime i picked one it just went back to the start message. definitely looks dodgy, watch out.

I recently received a phone call from this number. If it is from university, as mentioned before, then (at least at my university), they have a team of students who call recent graduates to inquire about their current status in life and if they would be willing to make a small donation to the university. Unfortunately, you cannot return their call directly as they typically establish call stations within the university premises for around two hours, one evening per week. I hope this information proves helpful.

I just received a prank call from +44 20 78636012 (UK), trying to sell me escort and other adult services. The woman on the phone had a Russian accent, maybe from somewhere like Azerbaijan or Kazakhstan. Honestly, she sounded like she really needs some help with her mental health.

Who is that phone number calling from?
12 years
On 3rd December 2014, I received a phone call from a certain number. The person on the other end asked for my son and claimed to be from his University. They mentioned that they wanted to ask him some follow-up questions, such as his current activities after graduation. However, I informed them politely that my son was not available. In response, I inquired if I could take their name and number so that my son could contact them later. Surprisingly, they declined my request, mentioning it was not possible. (I retrieved the number from 1471). The individual at the University representative suggested that I answer the questions as a substitute for my son since I am his mother. I expressed concerns about the authenticity of their identity, as there was no proof of who they were. Furthermore, I mentioned that they possessed personal details about my son, which raises questions about potential breaches of data protection laws if this call centre is indeed affiliated with the University.

I received a call from this number. Who is calling?

I reckon it’s something related to surveys for uni experiences. They claimed to be calling from Leeds Beckett University, but the number's got a London area code, which is just nonsense, if you ask me. Complete waste of time!
