Today I got a voicemail claiming to be from hmrc. The audio was all distorted and glitchy but i caught some bits where they said i was gonna get in trouble. Honestly, such a rubbish scam - absolutely the worst ive encountered. Just ignore and block the number, its not worth your time.

Got a call from a woman with an American accent on Thursday the 5th of November 2020 at 11:34 am. She told me to get in touch with HMRC or else face some kind of consequences. Quite unsettling, to be honest.

Got a call with a robotic lady voice saying something about HMRC. The voice kept breaking up and was really hard to understand - like it was all glitchy or something, just like others have mentioned. I think she said something about a solicitor, but I couldn’t be sure. Felt off anyway, so I just ended the call and looked up the number here to see if it was dodgy.

I didn't pick up but got an automated voicemail claiming it was from HMRE saying I needed to ring back. They also mentioned something about needing a message from my lawyer. The name they said at the beginning wasn’t even mine. According to HMRC's official site, they don’t get in touch like that at all.

I just had a phone call from someone pretending to be HMRC. She was American and the call kept cutting out, but I got the jist - she threatened that if my lawyer doesn’t get in touch with them, I’d be in trouble for what I’ve done. Proper dodgy, that one.

got a call from a london landline, number 020 7856 9469, left a weird voicemail on my phone. sounded like some dodgy scam, a robotic american woman claiming to be from hmre or something, warning me not to ignore the message or else bad things would happen! complete rubbish if you ask me. honestly, one of the worst scam calls i've had. best thing to do is not pick up and block this number straight away.
