Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent claiming to be from the "O2 Department" offering me 40% off my bill for 6 months. I ended up chatting with him for ages, asking how it felt working for a scammer and saying I knew exactly how the con worked and would report him. This is the second time in two days I've had this call. If you’re with O2, you can text "call" to 7726 from your phone. They'll text back asking you to confirm the number that called you, and O2 will keep an eye on it to help stop these annoying calls.

I ignored both calls since my phone flagged them as spam. But after I rejected the second one, I received a text from O2 with a passcode for my account. Supposedly, I asked for it, but I’m not sure if it’s just a coincidence or if the caller was trying to trick me into giving them the code to get into my mobile account. Blimey! Some bloke called Michael claiming to be from O2 with a massive offer... when I said it was a business number, he got all annoyed and just hung up on me! Honestly, these lot are scammers. If you go along with their “deal”, they send you a text that looks like it’s from O2 but it’s actually a recovery code message - basically telling you not to share that code with anyone. Then they use it to mess with your O2 account. Seriously sketchy stuff, watch out for this kind of trickery!
