Watch out, it's a SCAM! You can text report to 7726, that's what the police Action Fraud site says for reporting dodgy calls. If you never tell anyone about these scammy calls, then you can't really grumble when you keep getting them. Also, some posts here saying it’s all safe look really sus and fake to me.

Got a ring from someone asking for the director straight away by his actual name. Then he mentioned another director when I told him the first was stuck in a meeting. He must've been on some dodgy connection cos I could hear this weird buzzing noise all through the call. Thing is, we know that exchange hasn’t been touched in ages - I even saw the Openreach fibre crew out there this morning! Then they suddenly switched it up, saying it wasn’t about broadband after all. Bit strange, considering upgrading an exchange is all about switching from copper to fibre - even normal phone lines end up running over broadband now.
