Phone rang just one time then cut off. I reckon this is one of those numbers scanning loads of lines to see which ones actually pick up. Any number that answers even briefly probably ends up on some rubbish spam calling list. Proper scam stuff. Best to just block it if you’re able to.

I couldn't agree more! It’s likely that this number originates from another country and is making calls via VoIP technology. You’d expect the major telecom companies here in the UK to maintain a blacklist for such numbers and prevent them from reaching their customers, wouldn’t you? I've gone ahead and blocked it on both my mobile and VoIP devices, so if I can manage that, surely the telecom giants can implement a similar strategy!
