Got this call from a recorded message saying BT spotted some ‘weird activity’ on my phone line and warned me not to do anything online, especially internet banking. It then told me to press 9 to talk to someone or call a given 0800 number. I stupidly pressed 9 just to see what would happen and was quickly connected to a bloke with an Indian accent. We didn’t chat long before I realised it was a scam. If you believe the rubbish, I bet that guy’s more than happy to help you download some nasty software onto your computer.
